Flavonifractor Plautii or Its Metabolite Desaminotyrosine as Prophylactic Agents for Alleviating Myocardial Ischemia/Reperfusion Injury

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The gut microbiome is a potential target for treating cardiovascular disease. It is found that prophylactic administration of Flavonifractor plautii or its metabolite desaminotyrosine (DAT) exerts pleiotropic cardioprotective effects via promoting cardiomyocyte survival and attenuating cardiac inflammation against myocardial ischemia/reperfusion (I/R ...

Fish Swim Bladder‐Derived ECM Hydrogels Effectively Treat Myocardial Ischemic Injury through Immunomodulation and Angiogenesis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A unique hydrogel based on extracellular matrix from fish swim bladder, which is suitable for transcatheter delivery and possesses remarkable reparative capabilities for treating heart failure, is developed. It emerges as a multi‐effect factor profoundly influencing inflammation regulation, angiogenesis, and myocardial metabolism.

Dipyridamole Acts as Clinical Ferroptosis Inhibitor to Prevent from Tissue Injury

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Dipyridamole acts as a clinically used compound to suppress ferroptosis. Dipyridamole down‐regulates the expression of RNF126, which is an E3 ligase to ubiquitinate SLC7A11 for proteasome degradation. The deficiency of SLC7A11 largely abolishes the protective role of dipyridamole both in vitro and in vivo.

Evaluation of performance of two different chest tubes with either a sharp or a blunt tip for thoracostomy in 100 human cadavers

open access: yesScandinavian Journal of Trauma, Resuscitation and Emergency Medicine, 2012
Background Emergent placement of a chest tube is a potentially life-saving procedure, but rate of misplacement and organ injury is up to 30%. In principle, chest tube insertion can be performed by using Trocar or Non-trocar techniques.

Reinforcing Stromal Cell Spheroid Through Red‐Light Preconditioning for Advanced Vascularization

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study presents a novel approach to enhance stromal cell therapy for myocardial infarction by combining OLED‐based photobiomodulation (OPBM) preconditioning with 3D spheroid culture of hADSCs. The engineered spheroids improve angiogenesis, arterialization, and cardiac function in vivo, offering a next‐generation therapeutic strategy to overcome ...

What are the Advantages? A Prospective Analysis of 16 versus 28 French Chest Tube Sizes in Video-assisted Thoracoscopic Surgery Lobectomy of Lung Cancer

open access: yesChinese Journal of Lung Cancer, 2015
Background and objective Post-operation management of minimally invasive thoracic surgery is similar to that of open surgery, especially on the drainage tube of the chest. The aim of this study is to compare the advantages of using 16 F versus 28 F chest

Abnormal Chest X-ray Identification With Generative Adversarial One-Class Classifier [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2019
Being one of the most common diagnostic imaging tests, chest radiography requires timely reporting of potential findings in the images. In this paper, we propose an end-to-end architecture for abnormal chest X-ray identification using generative adversarial one-class learning.
