Kyobu geka. The Japanese journal of thoracic surgery, 2011Primary chest wall tumors consist of 5% of all thoracic tumors and 0.04% of all primary tumors. Almost half of primary chest wall tumors are benign. Over half are metastases from distant malignancies or direct invasions from adjacent malignancies such as breast cancer, lung cancer, mesothelioma and mediastinal tumor.

The Japanese journal of thoracic surgery, 2015Between 1994 and 2012, chest wall resection and reconstruction were performed 15 patients (16 cases) with primary chest wall tumors, metastatic tumors. and chest wall recurrence of breast carcinoma. In all the patients, reconstruction of the chest wall was performed using layers of polypropylene Marlex mesh sheets.
