Transcriptomics Unveil Dsx1 as a Critical Regulator in Sexual Dimorphism of Crustaceans

Sexually dimorphic traits are involved in reproductive competition and are shaped by sex‐biased gene expression. This study identifies Dsx1 as a key male‐biased gene in Morinoia aosen and demonstrates through RNA interference that its disruption feminizes male‐specific T3 leg structures.

Comparisons Between Large‐Scale Genomic Variants and SNPs in Driving Population Divergence and Local Adaptation

Integrative Zoology, EarlyView.
Candidate genes identified from SNPs, indels, and SVs exhibited limited shared genes, suggesting that diverse variant types capture complementary aspects of the adaptive landscape. Our results underscore the importance of incorporating multiple types of genomic variation to achieve a more comprehensive understanding of evolutionary processes.

ABSTRACT While oasis settlements emerged during the Bronze Age in Eastern and Northern Arabia, the settlement process in Central Arabia was different. Excavations at al‐Yamāma—main ancient settlement of the al‐Kharj oasis (Riyadh Province, KSA)—suggest that the latter did not emerge before the second half of the first millennium BCE.

A global assessment of the viruses transmitted by the peach‐potato aphid (Myzus persicae)

The viruses transmitted by Myzus persicae, including proportions by family, order and transmission type (persistent, semi‐persistent and non‐persistent), are provided. Latin binomials and common names are documented for each virus Virus presence in GB matches well with the rest of NW Europe, but with 25 exceptions.
