Enhancing Autism Spectrum Disorder Early Detection with the Parent-Child Dyads Block-Play Protocol and an Attention-enhanced GCN-xLSTM Hybrid Deep Learning Framework [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a rapidly growing neurodevelopmental disorder. Performing a timely intervention is crucial for the growth of young children with ASD, but traditional clinical screening methods lack objectivity. This study introduces an innovative approach to early detection of ASD. The contributions are threefold.

Combination Therapy With Vigabatrin and Prednisolone Versus Vigabatrin Alone for Infantile Spasms

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective The study evaluated the effectiveness of combination therapy with vigabatrin and prednisolone versus vigabatrin alone for treating infantile epileptic spasms syndrome (IESS). Methods This single‐center, single‐blind, randomized trial enrolled infants aged 2–14 months with new‐onset IESS, randomly assigned them (1:1) to receive either

Cerebral Amyloid Angiopathy Is Associated With Higher R2 Relaxation Rate: An MRI and Pathology Study

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Cerebral amyloid angiopathy (CAA) involves β‐amyloid deposition in the walls of cortical and leptomeningeal small vessels. Transverse relaxation rate (R2) is a major source of contrast in MRI. This study tested the hypothesis that CAA is associated with R2, extracted the spatial pattern of CAA‐related R2 abnormalities, and evaluated ...

Functional Limit Theorems for Hawkes Processes [PDF]

open access: yes
We prove that the long-run behavior of Hawkes processes is fully determined by the average number and the dispersion of child events. For subcritical processes we provide FLLNs and FCLTs under minimal conditions on the kernel of the process with the precise form of the limit theorems depending strongly on the dispersion of child events.

Home‐Based Tele‐tDCS in Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis: Feasibility, Safety, and Preliminary Efficacy

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive neurodegenerative disease with limited treatment options. Transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) shows promise as a neuromodulatory intervention in various neurological disorders, but its application in ALS, particularly in a remote, home‐based format, remains underexplored.

HPDL Variant Type Correlates With Clinical Disease Onset and Severity

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Recently, a mitochondrial encephalopathy due to biallelic HPDL variants was described, associated with a broad range of clinical manifestations ranging from severe, infantile‐onset neurodegeneration to adolescence‐onset hereditary spastic paraplegia. HPDL converts 4‐hydroxyphenylpyruvate acid (4‐HPPA) into 4‐hydroxymandelate (4‐HMA),
