We report on an 8-year-old boy who had a seminoma 2 years after orchipexy of the left testis. Seminoma is a rare tumor in childhood and, to our knowledge, this is the youngest patient with seminoma to be reported in the literature.

Twelve cases of leukemia (nine acute, three chronic) treated from December, 1960 to August, 1962 are presented. Clinical features, course of illness and therapy are discussed in relation to the Indian literature. A review was made of 139 fiberoptic colonoscopies performed between 1975 and 1982 on 113 patients aged 1 month to 20 years. General anesthesia was used in four procedures. All others were done under sedation with meperidine (mean dose 2.9 mg/kg) and diazepam (mean dose 0.5 mg/kg).

ELSEWHERE in this issue of Pediatrics is presented a series of cases of appendicitis in childhood in which the end results of surgical care approach perfection. In 1,358 cases there was but a single postoperative death—this from brain abscess! Comparable results of surgical care are obviously not available everywhere.
