TARDBP (TDP‐43) Knock‐in Zebrafish Display a Late‐Onset Motor Phenotype and Loss of Large Spinal Cord Motor Neurons

open access: yesAnnals of Neurology, EarlyView.
Objective Mutations in TARDBP (encoding TDP‐43) are associated with the neurodegenerative disease amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) and include familial missense mutations where there are a lack of models and mechanisms examining how they are pathogenic.

Extrusion Coating of Poly(Hydroxyalkanoates) (PHAs) and Blends: Modifying the Mechanical Properties and Water Vapor Barrier Performance

open access: yesJournal of Applied Polymer Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Poly(hydroxy alkanoates) PHAs are a family of bio‐based and biodegradable polyesters, which are potential sustainable alternatives to fossil‐based and nondegradable plastics. The interest in PHAs ascends from their renewable origin, unique properties, and fast degradation rates in soil and marine conditions. This study focuses on properties of

Effect of Confinement on Gas Barrier and Mechanical Properties of Rheologically Mismatched Multilayer TPU Films

open access: yesJournal of Applied Polymer Science, EarlyView.
Multilayer films combining thermoplastic polyurethanes and PETG are fabricated using high‐aspect‐ratio dies to manage significant viscosity differences. Spatial confinement within the multilayers improves polymer chain orientation and packing, significantly enhancing barrier and mechanical properties.
