ABSTRACT Introduction The prevalence of bioprosthetic aortic valve failure is increasing due to the broader use of bioprosthetic valves, both surgical and transcatheter, and an ageing population. Registry data indicate a higher risk of coronary obstruction and elevated gradients following valve‐in‐valve transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI ...

Integral Experiments and Magnetic Resonance Imaging of Lab‐Scale Liquid Distributors
Four lab‐scale liquid distributors were evaluated based on the homogeneity of the resulting liquid distribution. The best‐performing design reduced maldistribution and wall flow compared to a single‐point liquid distribution and remained stable under varying operating conditions, including different gas and liquid loads.

Photovoltaic Evaporative Chimney I–V Measurement System
The photovoltaic evaporative chimney is a novel solar-cooling system that serves a double purpose: it increases the efficiency of the photovoltaic (PV) panels and it cools down a water stream which can be used to dissipate the heat from a refrigeration ...

Investigation on tunnel stability considering pipe‐roof support with transparent soil technology
This study integrates transparent soil technology, 3D reconstruction and numerical simulation to captures the full‐field deformation of shield tunnel instability. Results demonstrate that pipe‐roof support enhances stability via the “soil‐arching barrier effect,” effectively restraining failure wedge development by extending stress transfer paths ...

Chimney effect in karst vadose zone
Abstract Caves and their surrounding fracture systems in the vadose zone of karst regions host a unique atmospheric environment. Understanding airflow in these systems is critical to understanding the properties of the subsurface atmosphere and the chemical interactions between air, water, and rock.

Graph Neural Network‐Based Prediction of Building Energy Consumption
A graph neural network that encodes a multi‐zone building as a graph accurately predicts hourly cooling and heating loads across three distinct climates, outperforming Random Forest and XGBoost baselines and serving as a fast surrogate to EnergyPlus simulations for scalable building energy management.

Phosphorus‐modified TPUs are prepared by one‐step, solvent‐free reactive melt processing using phosphate‐ or phosphonate‐containing diols and PEG or PPG soft segments. Fire behavior and mechanical response depend strongly on both chemistries. Peak heat release rate decreases by up to 54%, but reduced tensile strength and V‐2 dripping behavior reveal a ...
