1D Basin Modelling of Upper Jurassic to Upper Cretaceous Source Rocks in the Southern Pletmos Sub‐Basin, Outeniqua Basin, Offshore South Africa

open access: yesJournal of Petroleum Geology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The Pletmos sub‐basin in the Outeniqua Basin, offshore South Africa, is divided by the Superior, Pletmos and Plettenberg faults into northern and southern depocentres. In this study, geological and organic geochemical data together with 1D basin modelling were used to investigate the burial, thermal and maturation histories, and the timing of ...

The Price of Prosperity? A Historical Account of Regulating Industrial Pollution in the Netherlands

open access: yesRegulation &Governance, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Regulatory governance and state‐corporate crime studies link persistent industrial pollution to long‐term regulatory–industry interactions, yet little is known about how these interactions evolve and become entrenched. This article examines two enduring cases of industrial pollution in the Netherlands—Hoogovens/Tata Steel and DuPont de Nemours/

Experimental and Theoretical Investigation of Performance of a Solar Chimney Model, Part I: Experimental Investigation

open access: yesSolar Energy and Sustainable Development, 2014
This paper presents the experimental data that was collected from small pilot solar chimney. The experimental data together with ambient conditions are used to evaluate the performance and study the behaviour of the solar chimney; this data will be used ...

Features of Calculation of Chimney Pipes for Seismic Effects

open access: yesRussian Journal of Construction Science and Technology
This article discusses the features of calculating chimneys for seismic impact. The sequence of performing the calculation of the chimney in accordance with the current regulatory documents is presented, starting from the collection of loads, ending with a static calculation and analysis of the results.

Preeclampsia‐derived small extracellular vesicles disrupt blood–brain barrier integrity and activate glial cells in vitro

open access: yesThe Journal of Physiology, EarlyView.
Abstract figure legend This study assessed the impact of plasma‐derived small extracellular vesicles (sEVs) from healthy pregnant women and those diagnosed with late‐onset preeclampsia (PE) on the blood–brain barrier (BBB) integrity and glial cell response. PE patients had higher sEV concentrations than healthy controls.

Thermal modeling of caves ventilated by chimney effect

open access: yesInternational Journal of Thermal Sciences
Cave ventilation significantly increases the depth of natural thermal oscillations and decreases the time of propagation compared to heat conduction in the rock mass. This makes it necessary to develop and test thermal models for the prediction of temperature fields in ventilated karst massifs.

Building a Continental‐Scale Geodetic Network: The Plate Boundary Observatory (PBO)

open access: yesPerspectives of Earth and Space Scientists, Volume 7, Issue 1, December 2026.
Abstract The Plate Boundary Observatory (PBO) transformed the use of geodesy in North America to study crustal deformation and plate boundary processes by establishing a continental‐scale, standardized, open‐access geodetic network. Built and operated by UNAVCO between 2003 and 2018 as part of the National Science Foundation (NSF)‐funded EarthScope ...

Relational Cartographies of Mobility: Arts‐Based Approaches to Territorial Belonging in Internal and International Migration

open access: yesGlobal Networks, Volume 26, Issue 4, October 2026.
ABSTRACT This article develops a relational approach to human mobility by integrating internal and international migration into a single analytical framework. Addressing the persistent fragmentation in migration studies, it explores how territorial belonging is constructed through narrative, visual and material practices in different contexts of ...

Fractional Moment Theory for Anomalous Transport: A Unified Framework for Lévy Flights, Fractals, and Complex Dynamical Systems

open access: yesMathematical Methods in the Applied Sciences, Volume 49, Issue 13, Page 14964-15009, 15 September 2026.
ABSTRACT We develop a unified mathematical framework extending classical moment theory from discrete integer orders to a continuous spectrum of real orders f>0$$ f>0 $$, providing a systematic statistical characterization of complex systems exhibiting power‐law behavior.
