Continuum Mechanics Modeling of Flexible Spring Joints in Surgical Robots
A new mechanical model of a tendon‐actuated helical extension spring joint in surgical robots is built using Cosserat rod theory. The model can implicitly handle the unknown contacts between adjacent coils and numerically predict spring shapes from straight to significantly bent under actuation forces.

Construction and Applications of CRT Sequences
Protocol sequences are used for channel access in the collision channel without feedback. Each user accesses the channel according to a deterministic zero-one pattern, called the protocol sequence.

Waveguide Photoactuators: Materials, Fabrication, and Applications
Waveguide photoactuators convert guided light into mechanical motion. Their tethered‐flexible design enables minimally invasive surgery and confined‐space robotics. This review aims to guide materials selection, device design, and system integration, accelerating the transition of waveguide photoactuators from laboratory prototypes to versatile ...

In frequency‐hopping (FH) communication systems, frequency‐hopping sequences (FHSs) determine systems' performance. For the quasi‐synchronous FH communication systems, no‐hit‐zone (NHZ) frequency sequences are good at preventing multi‐path interferences.

Multilevel Threshold Secret and Function Sharing based on the Chinese Remainder Theorem [PDF]
A recent work of Harn and Fuyou presents the first multilevel (disjunctive) threshold secret sharing scheme based on the Chinese Remainder Theorem. In this work, we first show that the proposed method is not secure and also fails to work with a certain ...

Towards Robustness in Residue Number Systems
The problem of robustly reconstructing a large number from its erroneous remainders with respect to several moduli, namely the robust remaindering problem, may occur in many applications including phase unwrapping, frequency detection from several ...

Sub‐Unit‐Cell Logic Governs Transport in TPMS Architectures
ABSTRACT Next‐generation energy, thermal, and chemical systems require architectures capable of highly efficient transport across multiple length scales. Triply periodic minimal surfaces (TPMS), first conceptualized in 1865, offer inherently scalable geometries with exceptional transport potential, yet mechanistic links between topology and performance
