Magnetic Reversal Sequence in the Upper Portion of the Chinle Formation, Montoya, New Mexico
Bulletin of the Geological Society of America, 1972An investigation of the magnetic reversal stratigraphy in the Redonda Member and the underlying shale member of the Chinle Formation at Montoya, New Mexico, reveals the presence of at least eight separate polarity intervals in the upper 133 m of the Chinle Formation.

Unusual tetrapod teeth from the Upper Triassic Chinle Formation, Arizona, USA
Canadian Journal of Earth Sciences, 2005Two teeth collected from the Upper Triasssic Chinle Formation of northeastern Arizona are described here and named Kraterokheirodon colberti gen. et sp. nov. These teeth are novel in having an occlusal ridge with six cusps and a posterior shelf lacking dentine. Evidence for thecodont implantation of the root suggests amniote affinities for these teeth.

Analcime in the Chinle Formation of Utah correlative with the Popo Agie of Wyoming
Journal of Sedimentary Research, 1953ABSTRACT Analcime occurs in a zone at least 12 feet thick in the upper part of the Chinle formation on the south flank of the Uinta Mountains near Vernal, Utah. The presence of analcime in this stratigraphic position and its association with an ocherous lithology permit correlation of this zone with the Popo Agie member (Chugwater formation) of Wyoming.

Lungfish Burrows in the Upper Triassic Chinle and Dolores Formations, Colorado Plateau
SEPM Journal of Sedimentary Research, 1987ABSTRACT Vertical-to-inclined, cylindrical trace fossils that occur in the Upper Triassic Chinle and Dolores Formations on the Colorado Plateau are interpreted to be the casts of lungfish burrows. The casts, which are as much as 11 cm in diameter and as much as 1.6 m long, were formed by passive silicilastic and carbonate sedimentation into apparently ...

Pollen of Ephedra from the Chinle Formation (Upper Triassic) and the Genus Equisetosporites
Micropaleontology, 1960Recently discovered pollen grains with asymmetrically ridged ektexines from the Chinle formation (Upper Triassic) represent the extant genus Ephedra. The holotype specimen of Equisetosporites chinleana Daugherty is also a conspecific Ephedra pollen grain, and the species is transferred to form the new combination Ephedra chinleana (Daugherty) R.
