2-SR-based electrically small antenna for RFID applications [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
In this work, the 2-turn spiral resonator (2-SR) is proposed as an electrically small antenna for passive radio frequency identification (RFID) tags at the European ultra-high frequency (UHF) band. The radiation properties are studied in order to explore

Hybrid Frequency‐Polarisation Coding Method for Chipless Radio‐Frequency Identification Tags With Angular Orientation

open access: yesIET Microwaves, Antennas &Propagation, Volume 19, Issue 1, January/December 2025.
In this paper, a hybrid coding method for chipless radio‐frequency identification (RFID) tag with angular orientation is proposed. Frequency‐shift coding is achieved by controlling the size of three complementary split single ring resonators (CSSRR). And on the basis, we add a dimension of polarisation coding, which is achieved through changes in the ...

Degradable and Printed Microstrip Line for Chipless Temperature and Humidity Sensing

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, Volume 10, Issue 11, November 2024.
This study presents a biodegradable printed microstrip line with multi‐resonance for temperature and relative humidity monitoring. Zinc printed on paper encapsulated with beeswax serves as the radio‐frequency transducer. Two resonators at 1.2 and 2 GHz are used to sense temperature and humidity, respectively.

Chipless RFID, an emerging technology [PDF]

open access: yesannals of telecommunications - annales des télécommunications, 2013
Radiofrequency identification (RFID) is an established technique for automatic data captures exploiting reflected electromagnetic waves by scatters, usually called tags or transponders. In the last decades, roughly since the mid-1960s, very effective integrated circuit-based tags have been developed and implemented in numerous applications from the ...
