Textile Chipless Tag for Gesture Recognition
IEEE Sensors Journal, 2021In this paper a novel fully–textile chipless tag for gesture recognition applications is presented. The proposed tag consists of a microstrip line with transmission zeros controlled by the position of the fingers. This is obtained by associating to each finger an open ended stub that is electrically connected or not to the microstrip line depending on ...

Embedded Singularity Chipless RFID Tags
IEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation, 2011Every structure scatters an impulse plane wave in a unique fashion. The structural information of an object can be extracted by analyzing the late-time scattered field as the impulse-response of the structure. The late-time scattered field, which represents the source-free response of the structure, contains a summation of damped sinusoids.

In this paper a compact wearable chipless tag is presented. The proposed tag is based on a frequency signature achieved by using a microstrip line loaded by compact resonators slotted in the ground plane. Textile materials have been used for both the substrate and the conductive parts.

One key element of a chipless RFID system is the tag. Since it is chipless, it acts both as the scatterer and encoder. As the scatterer, it needs to reradiate the incident field as much as possible in order to maximize signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) in the reader. As the encoder, it needs to encode a high density of data on the backscattered signal. There

Novel Compact Flexible Chipless RFID Tags
2021 IEEE International Conference on Flexible and Printable Sensors and Systems (FLEPS), 2021Two novel, compact, U-shaped slot resonator-based 8-bit chipless RFID tags covering wide-band for identification, tracking and sensing applications are presented in this paper. The tags are designed on a flexible DuPont substrate having relative permittivity 4, loss tangent 0.027 and thickness 50 µm.

Simple Chipless RFID Tag Configurations
2018 IEEE Asia-Pacific Conference on Antennas and Propagation (APCAP), 2018Two unique configurations of chipless RFID tag are reported in this paper. They consist of integrated Lresonators and cross polarized transmitting and receiving circular patch antennas. The validations of the proposed designs have been carried out using 8-bit data encoded tags, for the frequency band of 3.3–5.8 GHz, and microstrip circular antenna ...

Chipless RFID Tags: Co- or Cross-Polar Tag?
2019 IEEE Asia-Pacific Microwave Conference (APMC), 2019This paper provides a comparison between two types of co- and cross-polar frequency-coded chipless RFID tags considering their electrical parameters. These parameters are the level of radar cross section (RCS), data capacity, rotation sensitivity, and resistant to interferences. A brief description of each parameter is given.

High-density compact chipless RFID tag for item-level tagging
2018 International Applied Computational Electromagnetics Society Symposium (ACES), 2018This paper presents 36-bit compact passive chipless RFID tag. The bowtie shape based tag structure is loaded with 36 slots. The tag is capable of yielding high data density. The overall tag dimension is 27mm × 26mm. The tag structure is optimized and analyzed for three different substrates, i.e., FR-4, Taconic TLX-0, and Rogers RT5880. Each loaded slot

Chipless RFID tag with integrated sensor
2010 IEEE Sensors, 2010A chipless tag based on multiresonators with integrated temperature sensor is presented. The tag consists of a UWB monopole antenna loaded with multiple cascaded spiral EBGs which have a 1∶1 correspondence with data bits. The data bits are encoded into the spectrum hence the tag has a unique spectral signature. The chipless tag is less sensitive to tag
