Anomalies, Horizons and Hawking radiation

open access: yes, 2008
Hawking radiation is obtained from the Reissner-Nordstr\"{o}m blackhole with a global monopole and the Garfinkle-Horowitz-Strominger blackhole falling in the class of the most general spherically symmetric blackholes $(\sqrt{-g}\neq1)$, using only chiral

Chiral anomaly calculation in the extended coupled Rarita-Schwinger model [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review D, 2019
We recalculate the chiral anomaly in the Abelian gauge model in which a spin-$\frac{1}{2}$ field is directly coupled to a Rarita-Schwinger spin-$\frac{3}{2}$ field, using the extended theory in which there is an exact fermionic gauge invariance.

Bootstrapping the chiral-gravitational anomaly

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics
Abstract We analyze causality and unitarity constraints in graviton scattering amplitudes, aiming to establish new bounds on theories with U(1)-gravitational anomalies, such as axion models or strongly-coupled gauge theories. For this purpose, we show the necessity of coupling these theories to gravity.

Disorder Scattering Induced Large Room Temperature Nonlinear Anomalous Hall Effect in a Semiconductor CdGeAs2

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Bulk CdGeAs2, a well‐known nonlinear optical semiconductor, exhibits an exceptionally large room‐temperature nonlinear Hall effect (NLHE), achieving a record‐high nonlinear Hall responsivity of 2.2 × 10−3 m/V. This pronounced NLHE enables broadband frequency mixing up to the megahertz regime, establishing CdGeAs2 as a promising platform for next ...

Chiral soliton lattice phase in warm QCD

open access: yesPhysics Letters B, 2021
We analyze the phase diagram of quantum chromodynamics at low-to-moderate temperature, baryon chemical potential and external magnetic field within chiral perturbation theory at next-to-leading order of the derivative expansion.

Quantum Kinetic Theory of the Chiral Anomaly [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
We present a general quantum kinetic theory of low-field magnetotransport in weakly disordered crystals that accounts fully for the interplay between electric-field-induced interband coherence, Bloch-state scattering, and an external magnetic field.

Universal Conductance Fluctuations in Quantum Anomalous Hall Insulators

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Universal conductance fluctuations are observed in mesoscopic quantum anomalous Hall insulators. Two distinct fluctuation patterns are identified, arising from different interference processes of bulk and chiral edge states, respectively. These findings unveil rich quantum interference phenomena in quantum anomalous Hall insulators and provide insights

The γπ → ππ anomaly from lattice QCD and dispersion relations

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2021
We propose a formalism to extract the γπ → ππ chiral anomaly F 3π from calculations in lattice QCD performed at larger-than-physical pion masses. To this end, we start from a dispersive representation of the γ (*) π → ππ amplitude, whose main quark-mass ...

Breakdown of the Chiral Anomaly in Weyl Semimetals in a Strong Magnetic Field

open access: yes, 2017
The low-energy quasiparticles of Weyl semimetals are a condensed-matter realization of the Weyl fermions introduced in relativistic field theory. Chiral anomaly, the nonconservation of the chiral charge under parallel electric and magnetic fields, is ...

Chiral Anomaly of Weyl Magnons in Stacked Honeycomb Ferromagnets [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Chiral anomaly of Weyl magnons (WMs), featured by nontrivial band crossings at paired Weyl nodes (WNs) of opposite chirality, is investigated. It is shown that WMs can be realized in stacked honeycomb ferromagnets.
