From Chiral Islands to Smectic Layers: A Computational Journey Across Sexithiophene Morphologies on C-60

open access: yes, 2015
A theoretical investigation of the molecular organization at a sexithiophene (T6)-C-60 fullerene planar heterojunction, based on atomistic molecular dynamics, is presented, in which the effect of two different sample preparation processes on the ...

A Chirality‐Converted Bacteriolytic Dodecapeptide Regulates Vibrio‐Induced Polymicrobial Infection and Ameliorates Invasion‐Associated Gut Microbiota Disequilibrium

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Multidrug‐resistant Vibrio infections are rising rapidly and threaten coastal populations worldwide. This study introduces D‐zp37, a chirality‐engineered antimicrobial peptide with exceptional potency against resistant Vibrio species. D‐zp37 kills planktonic cells, blocks mixed‐species biofilms, disrupts essential bacterial stress responses, and shows ...

Anodic Deposition of Enantiopure Hexahelicene Layers

open access: yes, 2018
International audienceHelicenes are polyaromatic compounds with chiral properties useful for many applications in optoelectronics, separation processes, chiral recognition and catalysis. Here we focused on the electrochemistry of carbo[n]helicenes (n=5,6,

Extreme Polaritonic Interactions in a Room‐Temperature Designable Sub‐Nanocavity Quantum Electrodynamic Platform

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A nanoparticle‐cluster‐on‐mirror (NPcoM) serves as a functionally deterministic sub‐nanocavity that emulates picocavities, enabling extreme light–matter interactions and polaritonic phenomena. ABSTRACT Pushing nanoscale optical confinement to its ultimate limits defines the regime of nano‐cavity quantum electrodynamics (nano‐cQED), where light‐matter ...

Fabrication and characterization for visible chiral metamaterials

open access: yes, 2011
Chiral metamaterials are artificial structures that can achieve much stronger optical activities than natural materials. In this thesis I will focus on the fabrication and characteristic of the chiral metamaterials in visible range.

Polarization‐Enabled Piezoelectric Tellurium–Selenium (TexSe1–x) Thin Films for Memory Switching and Artificial Synaptic Functions

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Here, we demonstrate and investigate polarization‐enabled electromechanical responses in cryogenic physical vapor deposition (cryogenic PVD)‐deposited TexSe1‐x thin films, a tellurium‐based compound with a tunable bandgap and enhanced non‐centrosymmetry.

Type‐II Dirac Fermions in Monolayer In2O: Interplay of Magnetotransport, Spin Hall Effect, and Superconductivity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
First‐principles calculations reveal that monolayer In2O${\rm In}_2{\rm O}$ hosts type‐II Dirac fermions near the Fermi level, which split into Weyl points under spin‐orbit coupling. The material exhibits negative and giant magnetoresistance, a pronounced spin Hall effect, and phonon‐mediated superconductivity at 1.5 K, establishing it as a unique ...

Current Induced Spin-Polarization in Chiral Molecules

open access: yes
The inverse spin-galvanic effect or current-induced spin-polarization is mainly associated with interfaces between different layers in semiconducting heterostructures, surfaces of metals, and bulk semiconducting materials.
