The chiral and deconfinement phase transitions [PDF]

open access: yesOpen Physics, 2012
Abstract By introducing the dressed Polayakov loop or dual chiral condensate as a candidate order parameter to describe the deconfinement phase transition for light flavors, we discuss the interplay between the chiral and deconfinement phase transitions, and propose the possible QCD phase diagram at finite temperature and density.

Quantum simulation of chiral phase transitions

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2022
Abstract The Nambu–Jona-Lasinio (NJL) model has been widely studied for investigating the chiral phase structure of strongly interacting matter. The study of the thermodynamics of field theories within the framework of Lattice Field Theory is limited by the sign problem, which prevents Monte Carlo evaluation of the functional ...

Cluster percolation and chiral phase transition [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review D, 2002
The Meron Cluster algorithm solves the sign problem in a class of interacting fermion lattice models with a chiral phase transition. Within this framework, we study the geometrical features of the clusters built by the algorithm, that suggest the occurrence of a generalized percolating phase transition at the chiral critical temperature in close ...

Latent heat in the chiral phase transition [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review D, 2003
The chiral phase transition at finite temperature and density is discussed in the framework of the QCD-like gauge field theory. The thermodynamical potential is investigated using a variational approach. Latent heat generated in the first-order phase transition is calculated.

Pion Velocity near the Chiral Phase Transition [PDF]

open access: bronzeCompact Stars, 2004
We focus on the pion velocity at the critical temperature and study the quantum and hadronic thermal effects based on the vector manifestation (VM). We show the non-renormalization property on the pion velocity $v_ $, which is protected by the VM, and estimate the value of $v_ $ to be close to the speed of light.

Chiral pasta: Mixed phases at the chiral phase transition [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review D, 2020
Interiors of neutron stars are ultradense and may contain a core of deconfined quark matter. Such a core connects to the outer layers smoothly or through a sharp microscopic interface or through an intermediate macroscopic layer of inhomogeneous mixed phases, which is globally neutral but locally contains electrically charged domains.

Chiral phase transition in a rotating sphere [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review D, 2020
We study the chiral phase transition of the two-flavor Nambu-Jona-Lasinio (NJL) model in a rotating sphere, which includes both rotation and finite size effects. We find that rotation leads to a suppression of the chiral condensate at a finite temperature, while its effects are smaller than the finite size effects.
