Dark confinement and chiral phase transitions: gravitational waves vs matter representations
We study the gravitational-wave signal stemming from strongly coupled models featuring both, dark chiral and confinement phase transitions. We therefore identify strongly coupled theories that can feature a first-order phase transition.

Number of the QCD critical points with neutral color superconductivity [PDF]
We investigate the effect of the electric-charge neutrality in $\beta$ equilibrium on the chiral phase transition by solving the chiral and diquark condensates in the two-flavor Nambu--Jona-Lasinio model. We demonstrate that the electric-charge neutrality plays a similar role as the repulsive vector interaction; they both weaken the first-order ...

Chiral Magnetic Effect and QCD Phase Transitions with Effective Models [PDF]
We study the influence of the chiral phase transition on the chiral magnetic effect. The chiral electric current density along the magnetic field, the electric charge difference between on each side of the reaction plane, and the azimuthal charged-particle correlations as functions of the temperature during the QCD phase transitions are calculated.

Global Phase Diagram of Competing Ordered and Quantum Spin Liquid Phases on the Kagomé Lattice [PDF]
We study the quantum phase diagram of the spin-$1/2$ Heisenberg model on the kagom\'e lattice with first-, second-, and third-neighbor interactions $J_1$, $J_2$, and $J_3$ by means of density matrix renormalization group. For small $J_2$ and $J_3$, this model sustains a time-reversal invariant quantum spin liquid phase. With increasing $J_2$ and $J_3$,

A domain wall and chiral edge currents in holographic chiral phase transitions
We investigate spatially inhomogeneous solutions in a top-down holographic model: the D3/D7 model which provides a holographic description of the chiral phase transition for a finite external magnetic field, chemical potential, and temperature.

Novel Lifshitz point for chiral transition in the magnetic field
Based on the generalized Ginzburg–Landau theory, chiral phase transition is discussed in the presence of magnetic field. Considering the chiral density wave we show that chiral anomaly gives rise to an inhomogeneous chiral phase for nonzero quark-number ...

Deconfinement and Chiral Symmetry: Competing Orders [PDF]
We investigate the interplay between chiral symmetry restoration and deconfinement both in two color QCD and adjoint QCD. In ordinary QCD we show how the behavior of the Polyakov loop near chiral phase transition is induced by the chiral order parameter, while in adjoint two color QCD one has two truly independent phase transitions.

Critical phenomenon of the layered chiral helimagnetic YbNi3Al9
Two-dimensional layered YbNi _3 Al _9 exhibits a chiral helimagnetic ground state, which is a candidate for the field-modulated chiral magnetic soliton. In this work, the magnetism and critical phenomenon of YbNi _3 Al _9 are investigated.

Probing of the topological phase transition in a disordered 1D acoustic system
The methods to determine the Zak phase introduced by previous studies are usually limited to the periodic systems protected by the inversion symmetry. In this work, we build a one-dimensional chiral symmetric acoustic chain with controllable disorder to ...

The effect of the Polyakov loop on the chiral phase transition [PDF]
The Polyakov loop is included in the SU(2)_L x SU(2)_R chiral quark-meson model by considering the propagation of the constituent quarks, coupled to the (sigma,pi) meson multiplet, on the homogeneous background of a temporal gauge field, diagonal in color space.
