Chiral and Critical Behavior in Strong Coupling QCD [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
We use a cluster algorithm to study the critical behavior of strongly coupled lattice QCD in the chiral limit. We show that the finite temperature chiral phase transition belongs to the O(2) universality class as expected. When we compute the finite size effects of the chiral susceptibility in the low temperature phase close to the transition, we find ...

The Chiral Phase Transition of QCD

open access: yes, 2015
In this thesis we study various aspects of the chiral phase transition of quantum chromodynamics (QCD). This transition is characterized by very different degrees of freedom at different energy scales. We therefore address the question how hadrons on low energy scales emerge from the underlying quark-gluon dynamics at high energies.

Chiral magnonic edge states in ferromagnetic skyrmion crystals controlled by magnetic fields

open access: yesPhysical Review Research, 2020
Achieving control over magnon spin currents in insulating magnets, where dissipation due to Joule heating is highly suppressed, is an active area of research that could lead to energy-efficient spintronics applications.

Chiral ordered phases in a frustrated S=1 chain with uniaxial single-ion-type anisotropy [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
The ground-state phase transitions of a frustrated S=1 Heisenberg chain with the uniaxial single-ion-type anisotropy and the frustrating next-nearest-neighbor coupling are studied. For the system, it has been shown that there are gapless and gapped chiral phases in which the chirality \kappa_l = S^x_l S^y_{l+1} - S^y_l S^x_{l+1} exhibits a finite long ...

Unveiling chiral states in the XXZ chain: finite-size scaling probing symmetry-enriched c = 1 conformal field theories

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics
We study the low-energy properties of the one-dimensional spin-1/2 XXZ chain with time-reversal symmetry-breaking pseudo-scalar chiral interaction and propose a phase diagram for the model.

Chiral phase transition of three flavor QCD with nonzero magnetic field using standard staggered fermions

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2018
Lattice simulations for (2+1)-flavor QCD with external magnetic field demon-strated that the quark mass is one of the important parameters responsible for the (inverse) magnetic catalysis.
