The small cyclic peptide CP32 effectively inhibits Phytophthora infestans, the causal agent of potato and tomato late blight. Combined biochemical and phenotypic analyses demonstrate that CP32 disrupts cell wall biosynthesis, a key process in pathogen infection, resulting in a marked reduction of disease symptoms in plants.

Plant G proteins: Versatile signaling hubs for synergistic improvement of agronomic traits
This review highlights the roles of G‐protein signaling in crop yield and quality, as well as abiotic and biotic stress responses. It also discusses the feasibility of breaking the trade‐off between plant growth and stress tolerance via dissecting G‐protein regulatory pathways, gene editing, mining natural elite variants, and AI‐assisted breeding ...

A Spontaneous Mutation in tfoX Impairs Bioluminescence in Photobacterium kishitanii ANT‐2200
A frameshift mutation in tfoX generates a truncated regulator associated with reduced lux–rib expression and low luminescence. Complementation with wild‐type tfoX restores transcription and light production, supporting a role for TfoX in regulating bioluminescence independently of quorum sensing.
