Comprehensive Analysis of the Chitinase Family Genes in Tomato (Solanum lycopersicum)
Chitinase catalyzes the hydrolysis of chitin β-1,4 linkages. However, plants cannot produce chitin, suggesting that plant chitinases do not have the same function as animals.

Processive chitinase is a linear molecular motor which moves on the surface of crystalline chitin driven by processive hydrolysis of single chitin chain. Here, we analyse the mechanism underlying unidirectional movement of Serratia marcescens chitinase A

Proteomic analysis of the excretory-secretory products from larval stages of Ascaris suum reveals high abundance of glycosyl hydrolases [PDF]
Background: Ascaris lumbricoides and Ascaris suum are socioeconomically important and widespread parasites of humans and pigs, respectively. The excretory-secretory (ES) molecules produced and presented at the parasite-host interface during the different

Structural and functional characterization of chitinase from carnivorous plant Drosera adelae
A class I chitinase from the carnivorous plant Drosera adelae was expressed and purified using a yeast system, revealing high enzymatic activity. Structural analyses of the catalytic and chitin‐binding domains identified key tyrosine residues involved in substrate binding, offering insights into the enzyme's adaptation for insect digestion.
