A chitosanase from Paecilomyces lilacinus with binding affinity for specific chito‐oligosaccharides

Biotechnology and Applied Biochemistry, 2005
A purple‐spore, rhizosphere‐inhabiting nematophagous fungus, further identified as Paecilomyces lilacinus, was found to grow on chitosanase‐detecting plate. An induced endochitosanase having a molecular mass of 23 kDa was purified from the culture medium by a single cation‐exchange column‐chromatography step.

Effect of chito-oligosaccharides over human faecal microbiota during fermentation in batch cultures

Carbohydrate Polymers, 2016
Chitosan with high number of deacetylated units, its reacetylated derivative and COS obtained through an enzymatic treatment with chitosanase were tested in pH controlled batch cultures to investigate the ability of the human faecal microbiota to utilise them.

Effect of chito-oligosaccharide on the intestinal absorptions of phenylethanoid glycosides in Fructus Forsythiae extract

Phytomedicine, 2014
Phenylethanoid glycosides, the main active ingredients in Fructus Forsythiae extract possesses strong antibacterial, antioxidant and antiviral effects, and their contents were higher largely than that of other ingredients such as lignans and flavones, but their absolute bioavailability orally was significantly low, which influenced clinical efficacies ...

The binding of N-trifluoroacetyl chito-oligosaccharides to wheat-germ agglutinin: a fluorescence investigation

Biochimica et Biophysica Acta (BBA) - Protein Structure and Molecular Enzymology, 1987
We describe the synthesis of N-trifluoroacetyl chito-oligosaccharides and their use as ligands to probe the binding sites of wheat-germ agglutinin, a lectin specific for N-acetylglucosamine. The binding is monitored using intrinsic protein fluorescence, which is due to tryptophan side-chains.

[The inactivating effect of chito-oligosaccharides on TMV particles in vitro].

Bing du xue bao = Chinese journal of virology, 2008
To confirm the inactivating effect of chito-oligosaccharides on Tobacco mosaic virus (TMV) par ticles in vitro, the difference of TMV pathogenicity was evaluated according to the decrease of local lesion numbers after inoculating with TMV mixed with chito-oligosaccharides (DP3-10) in Nicotiana glutinosa, and the virion structural change was studied by ...

CHITO-OLIGOSACCHARIDE: A MULTIFUNCTIONAL BIOPOLYMER ADVANCING MODERN WOUND HEALING

Chito-oligosaccharide (COS), a low–molecular weight bioactive derivative of chitosan, has emerged as a highly promising multifunctional biopolymer for advanced wound management. Its unique structural characteristics—short β-(1→4)-linked chains of D-glucosamine and Nacetyl-D-glucosamine with tunable degrees of polymerization and acetylation—provide ...

Eco-friendly enzymatic approaches in Chito oligosaccharide (COS) preparation and its applications

Chitin is the 2nd most abundant polymer on the earth, is mainly found in crustacean shells, yeast, and fungi. Chitin is neutral and Insoluble in water and organic solvents due to its composite polymeric form with more degree of acetylation (DA). Chitosan is the Derivative of chitin, deacetylated chitin, basic, cationic in nature and insoluble in most ...
