Study of Chlorambucil and Chlorambucil–Trimethyl-β-cyclodextrin Inclusion Complex by CE

Chromatographia, 2007
The results of CE studies of solid inclusion complexes of chlorambucil (CHL) and trimethyl-β-cyclodextrin (TM-β-CD) are presented. Chlorambucil has low stability in aqueous solution, so the formation of complexes with β-CD is a good way to improve its stability and dissolution. The experimental results confirm the existence of inclusion complexes.

Kinetics and Mechanism of Chlorambucil Hydrolysis

Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences, 1979
The kinetics and mechanism of hydrolysis of the cytotoxic drug chlorambucil were investigated. A study of the reaction order and of the pH, dielectric constant, and ionic strength effects on the reaction rate revealed that the hydrolysis was a limiting unimolecular nucleophilic substitution, the rate-determining step being the ionization of the first 2-

Potentiation of chlorambucil activity by phenylbutazone

Cancer Letters, 1978
Phenylbutazone increased the cytotoxicity of chlorambucil to L1210 and P388 leukemia cells in vitro by displacing alkylating agent bound to serum of the tissue culture medium. Administration of phenylbutazone with chlorambucil to mice bearing the P388 tumor lowers the dose of chlorambucil required to achieve maximum increase in life span, but also ...

Polymer-Chlorambucil Drug Conjugates: A Dynamic Platform of Anticancer Drug Delivery.

Macromolecular rapid communications, 2016
Recently, polymer drug conjugates (PDCs) have attracted considerable attention in the treatment of cancer. In this work, a simple strategy has been developed to make PDCs of an antitumor alkylating agent, chlorambucil, using a biocompatible disulphide ...

Chlorambucil Therapy in Sympathetic Ophthalmia

American Journal of Ophthalmology, 1995
We used chlorambucil therapy in a 28-year-old man with sympathetic ophthalmia, which was incompletely controlled with systemic corticosteroids, and the patient developed serious side effects. The patient sustained a penetrating injury with an intraocular metal foreign body. Attempts to remove it with a magnet failed.

Effects of Chlorambucil on human chromosomes

Mutation Research/Fundamental and Molecular Mechanisms of Mutagenesis, 1973
Abstract No significant amount of chromosomal damage was found in the 48-h cultures of lymphocytes of 18 patients who had been treated with the bifunctional alkylating agent chlorambucil (CBC). However, there was suggestive evidence of chromatid damage ( i.e. of types attributable to damage during or after DNA synthesis in the cell cycle). In marrow

Chlorambucil carcinogenesis in BALBc mice

Cancer Letters, 1990
Chlorambucil, a drug used in the treatment of neoplastic and non-neoplastic disease, was administered by gavage to BALB/c mice at a dose of 1.0 mg/kg body wt. 5 times per week for 12 weeks to test its carcinogenicity. The survival was statistically reduced in treated animals of both sexes (P less than 0.001).

Chlorambucil in Behçet's Disease

Ophthalmology, 1983
Ten patients with Behçet's disease were treated with chlorambucil alone. At the therapeutic drug level of 0.2 mg/kg, seven patients developed oligospermia and three patients developed azoospermia. A 30-year-old patient underwent a testicular biopsy two years after the cessation of therapy. Histopathology revealed evidence of testicular atrophy. Fifteen

Necrobiotic xanthogranuloma: Response to chlorambucil

Australasian Journal of Dermatology, 2010
ABSTRACTThis report of necrobiotic xanthogranuloma associated with chronic lymphocytic leukaemia describes the response of skin lesions to chlorambucil. Characteristic clinical and histological features of necrobiotic xanthogranuloma are presented, as well as a discussion regarding management and the use of chlorambucil.
