Chloride

Emergency Medicine Clinics of North America, 1986
The clinical significance of chloride should place this ion on an equal basis with sodium, potassium, and bicarbonate in the evaluation of body fluid or acid-base status. The rationale for ordering serum chloride determinations includes basically all the indications for requesting the other three electrolytes, particularly when there is concern about a

Chloride channels

Current Opinion in Neurobiology, 1993
Cl- channels have various functions such as regulation of cell volume, transepithelial transport, and control of excitability in nerve and muscle. Several different structural classes of Cl- channels have been identified recently by molecular cloning.

The synthesis and properties of diarylgoldzinc chlorides, diphenylgoldcadmium chloride, and diphenylgoldmercury chloride

Journal of Organometallic Chemistry, 1977
Abstract The arylation of carbonylgold chloride with diarylzinc compounds yields either triarylgoldzinc or diarylgoldzinc chlorides, depending on the reactant ratio and the nature of the aryl group. The same reactions with diphenylcadmium and diphenylmercury yield exclusively diphenylgoldcadmium chloride and diphenylgoldmercury chloride, respectively.

Solubility of hydrogen chloride in zinc chloride + sodium chloride melts

Journal of Chemical & Engineering Data, 1992
Measurement of the solubility of HCl gas in ZnCl 2 +NaCl binary molten mixtures has been carried out by an elution technique. The solubility data were found to exhiibit trends characteristic of a chemical dissolution process, implying the formation of a complex species.

Copolymers of vinyl chloride and vinylidene chloride with some acid chlorides

Journal of Polymer Science Part A-1: Polymer Chemistry, 1971
AbstractVinyl chloride and vinylidene chloride were copolymerized with 10‐acryloxydecanoyl chloride and 12‐acryloxystearoyl chloride by use of free‐radical initiator in solution to obtain copolymers with active chlorine groups. Alternative routes for making such copolymers which consisted of making the corresponding acrylic acid or acrylyl chloride ...

Gelation in the copolymerization of tetraallylammonium chloride with diallyldimethylammonium chloride and diallylammonium chloride

Polymer, 1990
Abstract Tetraallylammonium chloride (TAAC) was radically copolymerized with diallyldimethylammonium chloride (DADMAC) in water at 60°C. Gelation was delayed with an increase in the mole fraction of DADMAC in the monomer mixture. The precopolymer was easily incorporated into the gel at an initial stage of gelation, but a small amount of sol remained ...

Determination of chloride in chloride-containing materials with a chloride membrane electrode

The Analyst, 1968
The determination of chloride by using the membrane-type chloride electrode is described. Procedures are given for the analysis of chloride materials, including silver halides, both in the presence and absence of bromide and iodide.
