Solubility of fatty acids and other hydrophobic molecules in liquid trioleoylglycerol.

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 1984
The fat solubilities of some long chain fatty acids, alcohols, alkanes, and triacyglycerols, and of some aromatic, chlorinated aromatic, and chlorinated aliphatic hydrocarbons were measured in trioleoylglycerol.

Cometabolic degradation mechanism and microbial network response of methanotrophic consortia to chlorinated hydrocarbon solvents

open access: yesEcotoxicology and Environmental Safety, 2022
The cometabolism mechanism of chlorinated hydrocarbon solvents (CHSs) in mixed consortia remains largely unknown. CHS biodegradation characteristics and microbial networks in methanotrophic consortia were studied for the first time.

One‐Dimensional Materials Supported in Two‐Dimensional Van der Waals Metal–Organic Frameworks with Optical Anisotropy Switching via Twist‐Engineering

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
We introduce a molecular strategy to assemble one‐dimensional (1D) materials into two‐dimensional (2D) van der Waals metal–organic frameworks (MOFs). Crystals of [FeX(pzX)(bpy)] (X = Cl, F) form anisotropic 2D layers that can be mechanically exfoliated into thin sheets.

Environmental pollution of chlorinated hydrocarbons around Syowa Station

open access: yesAntarctic Record, 1983
DDT, PCB and HCH levels in air, snow, sea water, fish, benthic invertebrate, etc. collected by the 22nd Japanese Antarctic Research Expedition (1980-1982) around Syowa Station were determined and the possibility of leakage of these compounds from the ...

Bioelectrochemical Chlorinated Aliphatic Hydrocarbons Reduction in Synthetic and Real Contaminated Groundwaters

open access: yesChemical Engineering Transactions, 2022
The widespread contamination of chlorinated aliphatic hydrocarbons (CAHs) as Perchloroethylene (PCE) and Trichloroethylene (TCE) over the past recent years and their uncorrected disposal and storing brought these substances to become one of the most ...

2D MOF with Intrinsic Porosity for Colorimetric Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) Detection

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
An uncommon 2D MOF with intrinsic in‐plane porosity that can be mechanically exfoliated undergoes a distinct and reversible colour change upon exposure to various volatile organic compounds. ABSTRACT In this work, we report an uncommon 2D metal–organic framework (MOF) with intrinsic in‐plane porosity that undergoes a distinct and reversible colour ...

Defect‐Engineered Microwave‐Responsive Ni@C Composites From Waste PET for Catalytic Plastic Upcycling

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A circular upcycling strategy transforms waste poly(ethylene terephthalate) bottles into microwave‐responsive Ni@C catalyst featuring lattice‐distorted nickel cores and defective carbon shells. These strain‐rich heterointerfaces enhance dielectric loss and promote localized microwave hotspots, accelerating peroxymonosulfate activation and polymer‐chain

Removal of Chlorinated Chemicals in H2 Feedstock Using Modified Activated Carbon

open access: yesJournal of Chemistry, 2015
Activated carbon (GAC) was impregnated by sodium and used as adsorbent to remove chlorinated hydrocarbon (CHC) gases contaminated in H2 feedstock. The adsorption was carried out in a continuous packed-bed column under the weight hourly space velocity ...
