CHLORINE DIOXIDE BLEACHING OF SODA-ANTHRAQUINONE JUTE PULP TO A VERY HIGH BRIGHTNESS
Bleaching of soda-anthraquinone jute pulp by chlorine dioxide (ClO2) was studied to reach a target brightness of above 88% for the purpose of using less bleaching chemicals. The performance of either chlorine dioxide or peroxide in the final bleaching to

Kinetics of oxidation of a hemicellulose model compound by chlorine dioxide in bleaching
Kinetics of the oxidation of D-xylose, a hemicellulose model compound, by chlorine dioxide was studied under simulated bleaching conditions. The final reaction product, chloroacetic acid, which is a type of adsorbable organic halogen (AOX), was detected by gas chromatography-mass spectrometer (GC-MS). The kinetic equation was expressed as dW/dt = 2.36e-

Linear and nonlinear vibrational spectroscopies detect tight and loose complexes between imidazolium cations and poly(ethyleneoxide) chains in an iongel. Fourier transform infrared absorption spectroscopy, ultrafast two‐dimensional infrared spectroscopy, nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy, and density functional theory calculations show that, in ...

Modification of chlorine dioxide bleaching of Gmelina arborea (gamar) pulp
Elemental Chlorine Free (ECF) pulp bleaching is now the dominant pulp bleaching process in globally. In most bleachery, chlorine dioxide is over-consumed. About two thirds of the chlorine dioxide is wasted in useless side reactions. In the study, kraft pulp from Gmelina arborea (gamar wood) was bleached by ECF bleaching in modified sequences.

Midbrain PAG Astrocytes Modulate Mouse Defensive and Panic‐Like Behaviors
Astrocytes in the midbrain periaqueductal gray (PAG) dynamically encode threat intensity and shape defensive action selection in mice. Real‐time Ca2+ imaging reveals robust astrocytic activation during predator odor and CO2 exposure. Aberrant astrocytic Ca2+ overactivation disrupts goal‐directed escape, biases behavior toward freezing, and induces ...
