High-affinity nitrate/nitrite transporters NrtA and NrtB of Aspergillus nidulans exhibit high specificity and different inhibitor sensitivity

open access: yes, 2015
The NrtA and NrtB nitrate transporters are paralogous members of the major facilitator superfamily in Aspergillus nidulans. The availability of loss-of-function mutations allowed individual investigation of the specificity and inhibitor sensitivity of ...

Fluoride‐Free Mouthwashes Available Over‐The‐Counter in the US‐An Overview

open access: yesInternational Journal of Dental Hygiene, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Purpose Fluoride‐free mouthwashes (FFM) are commonly used by patients for a variety of cosmetic and/or therapeutic reasons. The purpose of this study was to investigate the composition and purposes of FFM available over‐the‐counter in the US.

P–T Modelling Constrains the Depth of Emplacement of the Porto Azzurro Pluton and Implies Minor Exhumation Caused by the Zuccale Fault (Island of Elba, Italy)

open access: yesJournal of Metamorphic Geology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Understanding the pressure of emplacement of granitic intrusions is crucial to understanding the exhumation history of plutons and constraining the tectonic setting of magma emplacement. However, P–T and geochronological constraints from exhumed plutons are often characterized by large uncertainties, especially in shallow crustal settings with

Reaction‐Driven Development of Fine‐Grained Plagioclase Networks Influences the Rheology of the Crust in the Bergen Arcs, Norway

open access: yesJournal of Metamorphic Geology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT In the middle to lower continental crust, mineral reactions can play a key role in controlling rheological behaviour by generating fine‐grained, mechanically weak domains. In granulite‐facies rocks from Krossøy (Bergen Arcs, Norway), we document how garnet breakdown produced interconnected networks of orthopyroxene + plagioclase ± spinel that ...

Major elements geochemistry of chlorite in different ore deposits and its genesis and exploration significance: a case study from Naruo porphyry Cu deposit in Duolong ore district, Tibet

open access: yesFrontiers in Earth Science
Chlorite is present extensively in many types of deposits. The mechanism underlying the chemical variations in chlorite remains unclear. The Naruo porphyry deposit is a giant copper porphyry deposit in the Duolong ore district of Tibet.

Vertical profiling of shock attenuation at the Rochechouart impact structure, France

open access: yesMeteoritics &Planetary Science, EarlyView.
Abstract Rochechouart, south‐west France, is a complex impact structure. Here, we present the first report of shock barometry of quartz from what are likely parautochthonous basement units at depth, based on samples from the 2017 C.I.R.I.R drilling campaign. The crystallographic orientations of 725 sets of PDFs in 512 quartz grains in samples from four

Polymict melt‐bearing breccia dikes in the Morokweng impact structure formed by slip‐induced mechanical mixing of pseudotachylite and cataclasite along large‐displacement impact faults

open access: yesMeteoritics &Planetary Science, EarlyView.
Abstract A core drilled through shocked and faulted Archean granitoid gneisses and dolerites in the eroded peak ring of the 70–80 km diameter Morokweng impact structure intersects multiple centimeter‐ to meter‐wide clastic‐matrix breccias containing a polymict clast population of lithic and mineral clasts and altered, millimeter‐ to centimeter ‐size ...

Revisiting the Hummeln structure, Sweden—A shallow marine Cambrian impact structure

open access: yesMeteoritics &Planetary Science, EarlyView.
Abstract Hummeln is a simple impact structure located in south‐eastern Sweden. It is approximately 1.2 km in diameter and almost completely covered by a lake. Here, we present the first detailed investigation of impactites and mapping of the 164.25 m deep drill core Hummeln‐1 with a focus on impact metamorphism and the impact process.
