A SWELLING CHLORITE MINERAL

Clays and clay minerals (National Conference on Clays and Clay Minerals), 1960
AbstractA green chloritelike material exfoliates on heating, and gives a series Of complexes with amines. Its structure is explained in terms of a 1:1 interstratitication of chlorite and swelling chlorite.

Identification of chlorite and chlorite-related minerals in sediments

Beiträge zur Mineralogie und Petrographie, 1964
A scheme is presented for the identification and classification of chlorite and related minerals in sediments which is mainly based on X-ray characteristics of the orginal sample and the sample heated at 350°C and treated with K+ and with glycerol. Examples are given.

Chlorite alteration in aqueous solutions and uranium removal by altered chlorite

Journal of Hazardous Materials, 2017
Chlorite alteration and the U removal capacity of altered chlorite were investigated. Batch kinetic dissolution tests using clinochlore CCa-2 were conducted for 60days in aqueous solutions of various pHs and ionic strengths. Batch sorption tests using these altered chlorite samples were conducted for 48h with natural groundwater containing 3.06×10-6M U.

Biotites and chlorites as interlayered biotite-chlorite crystal

Reference Chlorite Characterization for Chlorite Identification in Soil Clays

Clays and clay minerals (National Conference on Clays and Clay Minerals), 1954
AbstractLiterature pertaining to differential thermal and X-ray diffraction of chlorite minerals is reviewed. Optical, DTA, and X-ray data for eleven chlorite samples of clinochlore, prochlorite, thuringite, corundophilite, and leuchtenbergite are given.
