Langmuir‐Type Build‐Up of Self‐Generated Interlayers in Organic Solar Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, Volume 16, Issue 3, 21 January 2026.
Metal‐induced migration of polyethylene glycol (PEG) oligomer additives to Al contacts follows a Langmuir‐like adsorption behavior forming interfacial dipole layers. Consistent Voc‐concentration trends across various additives in two distinct organic solar cell systems demonstrate the generality of the phenomenon.

Zinc Grid Based Transparent Electrodes for Organic Photovoltaics

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, Volume 16, Issue 3, 21 January 2026.
A transparent flexible electrode based on an embedded zinc grid with ≈1 µm linewidth is reported, and its utility as a drop‐in replacement for indium‐tin oxide coated glass electrodes in organic photovoltaic devices is demonstrated. The zinc grids are fabricated using the unconventional approach of condensation coefficient modulation, using a ...

Determining Exciton Diffusion Length in Organic Semiconductors: Unifying Macro‐ and Microscopic Perspectives

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, Volume 16, Issue 3, 21 January 2026.
Exciton diffusion length in organic semiconductor films is determined from encounter/annihilation rates. Non‐normalized exciton densities and proper intrinsic lifetime reference avoid over‐parametrization of the fits. Monte Carlo Simulation of individual molecule‐to‐molecule hops reproduce these results (②) when matching lattice constant and hoping ...

Enhanced Thermal Stability in Perovskite Solar Cells via the Integration of a Nonionic Binary Compound

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, Volume 16, Issue 2, 14 January 2026.
N,N‐dimethylbenzenesulfonamide (DMBSA), a nonionic binary compound, is easily synthesized and applied for defect passivation via 2D/3D heterostructure perovskite formation. Unlike ionic phenethylammonium (PEA+), DMBSA remains stable without deprotonation and exhibits lower nucleophilicity, preventing undesirable reactions at elevated temperatures ...
