Low‐Coordination Solvation Engineering Enables Efficient and Stable Perovskite Solar Cells

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
This work introduces a kind of low‐coordination solvent, dimethyl carbonate (DMC), to replace a part of DMSO and DMF. DMC substitutes a part of DMSO to coordinate with PbI2 to change the chemical environment of PbI2. What is more, DMC promotes the formation of the nucleation of α‐FAPbI3 crystals.

Multifunctional ionic liquid boosts the efficiency of hole transport layer‐free carbon‐based perovskite solar cells beyond 20%

open access: yesFlexMat, EarlyView.
HTL‐free carbon‐based PSCs are promising in stability but limited by efficiency. Systematic screening identifies DMAFo as an optimized ionic‐liquid additive: the DMA+ regulates lattice distortion and relieves residual stress, while Fo‒ passivates halide vacancies, and ameliorates band‐alignment.

Selenophene‐substituted A‐D‐A‐type non‐fullerene acceptors for organic solar cells with an ultra‐high short‐circuit current density of 27.14 mA cm−2

open access: yesFlexMat, EarlyView.
Two novel narrow bandgap electron‐deficient acceptors 6TFSe‐4F and 6TFSe‐4Cl were rationally constructed via synergistic core fluorination, selenophene substitution, and alkylation, enhancing donor‐acceptor molecular electrostatic potential difference to improve exciton dissociation and reduce energy loss.
