Chlorophyll Fluorescence Imaging.

open access: yesMethods in molecular biology, 2018
Chlorophyll fluorescence imaging provides a noninvasive rapid screen to assess the physiological status of a number of leaves or plants simultaneously. Although there are no standard protocols for chlorophyll fluorescence imaging, here we provide an example of routines for some of the typical measurements.

Application of chlorophyll fluorescence imaging technique in analysis and detection of chilling injury of tomato seedlings

Computers and Electronics in Agriculture, 2020
Low temperature is one of the main environmental factors limiting plant geographical distribution and crop production. Chilling injury is a stress caused by low, nonfreezing temperatures (0–12 °C).

The Chlorophyll Fluorescence Imaging Spectrometer (CFIS), mapping far red fluorescence from aircraft

Remote Sensing of Environment, 2018
The Chlorophyll Fluorescence Imaging Spectrometer (CFIS) is an airborne high resolution imaging spectrometer built at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) for evaluating solar-induced fluorescence (SIF) from the Orbiting Carbon Observatory-2 (OCO-2 ...

Chlorophyll fluorescence imaging of plant–pathogen interactions

Protoplasma, 2010
Chlorophyll fluorescence imaging provides a noninvasive, non-destructive method with which to measure heterogenous changes in photosynthetic metabolism in plants infected by pathogens. The availability of commercial imaging fluorimeters has helped make this technique available to the wider scientific community, but considerable care is needed, both in ...

Kinetic imaging of chlorophyll fluorescence using modulated light

Photosynthesis Research, 2000
Fluorometers that measure the kinetics of chlorophyll fluorescence have become invaluable tools for determining the photosynthetic performance of plants. Many of these instruments use high frequency modulated light to measure the rate, efficiency and regulation of photosynthesis.

Tracking viral movement in plants by means of chlorophyll fluorescence imaging

Journal of Plant Physiology, 2011
Many techniques have been applied to understand viral cell-to-cell movement in host plants, but little progress has been made in understanding viral vascular transport mechanisms. We propose the use of chlorophyll fluorescence imaging techniques, not only to diagnose the viral infection, but also to follow the movement of the virus through the vascular

Enhancing chlorophyll fluorescence imaging under structured illumination with automatic vignetting correction for detection of chilling injury in cucumbers

Computers and Electronics in Agriculture, 2020
Chlorophyll fluorescence imaging (CFI) is useful for detecting physiological disorders or defects for green-skinned horticultural products, because defective and normal plant tissues would have different responses to ultraviolet (UV) or short-wavelength ...

Concurrent imaging of chlorophyll fluorescence, Chlorophyll a content and green fluorescent proteins‐like proteins of symbiotic cnidarians

Marine Ecology, 2014
AbstractResearch on photosynthetic cnidarians has been mainly focused on the symbiosis established between the cnidarian host and its dinoflagellates endosymbionts from genus Symbiodinium. Despite the potential of imaging techniques for assessing the spatial distribution of key parameters of cnidarian photobiology, such as photochemical activity ...

Detecting crop population growth using chlorophyll fluorescence imaging

Applied Optics, 2017
For both field and greenhouse crops, it is challenging to evaluate their growth information on a large area over a long time. In this work, we developed a chlorophyll fluorescence imaging-based system for crop population growth information detection. Modular design was used to make the system provide high-intensity uniform illumination. This system can
