Chlorophyll fluorescence imaging is useful as a non-destructive method for evaluating photosynthetic function of plants. A dynamic change in chlorophyll fluorescence intensity, known as the chlorophyll fluorescence induction phenomenon, can be observed by illuminating a dark-adapted green leaf with a stable intensity excitation light.

A Cheap Chlorophyll a Fluorescence Imaging System
A cheap chlorophyll (Chl) a fluorescence imaging system was developed for measuring leaf areas of 30×45 cm. Uniform saturating irradiances were created using CuSO4 filtered radiation from stroboscopes. The system was tested using maize leaves treated with diuron. Comparison was made with a small-area-measuring pulse amplified modulation Chl fluorometer.

Microalgae Monitoring in Microscale Photobioreactors via Multivariate Image Analysis
Microscale photobioreactors for microalgae growth represent an interesting technology for fast data production and biomass characterization; however, the small scale poses severe monitoring challenges, as traditional methods cannot be used.

Solar-induced chlorophyll fluorescence imaging spectrometer: design, manufacture, and evaluation
A scientific imaging spectrometer has been presented for the observation of solar-induced chlorophyll fluorescence of vegetation in NIR waveband, which may provide a new method to scale SIF application from leaf to canopy for the research of terrestrial vegetation photosynthesis.

A flash-lamp chlorophyll (Chl) fluorescence imaging system (FL-FIS) is described that allows to screen and image the photosynthetic activity of several thousand leaf points (pixels) of intact leaves in a non-destructive way within a few seconds. This includes also the registration of several thousand leaf point images of the four natural fluorescence ...
