A technic of intraoperative contact cholangiography is described in which a sterile wrapped film is placed behind the mobilized duodenum and common bile duct. In series of 120 cholecystectomies this technic, in conjunction with conventional cholangiography, allowed a low rate of exploration of the common bile duct (15 per cent) and has detected ...

Magnification in cholangiography
American Journal of Roentgenology, 1984The degree of magnification in radiographic imaging of the bile duct has not been sufficiently emphasized. Differences in magnification account for much of the considerable discrepancy among various radiographic and nonradiographic measurements of size.

MR cholangiography (MRC) uses the inherent contrast of fluid on magnetic resonance imaging to image the biliary tree and gallbladder noninvasively. The images produced are similar in appearance to those of invasive methods. Visualization of bile duct morphology with MRC equals or exceeds that of the invasive methods.

Serendipity in cholangiography
Scandinavian Journal of Gastroenterology, 1986Seventeen of 107 consecutive direct cholangiography demonstrated serendipitous and unusual but significant contrast collections. The indications for and routes of cholangiography, correlative imaging procedures and outcome were retrospectively analysed. There was 6 bilomas, 3 aberrant bile ducts, 3 hepatic and 3 subphrenic abscesses and 2 gastrobiliary

Abstract We urge routine use of immediate cholangiography in surgery of the gallbladder and common bile duct. Our results have been so satisfactory that we now do this procedure routinely if possible as a part of a cholecystectomy. This roentgenographic aid is not infallible but by using this device unsuspected stones, strictures, obstructions and ...

The role of direct cholangiographic methods has evolved significantly over the last two decades as other high-resolution imaging modalities have become available. Most of the time, careful clinical evaluation of a patient combined with ultrasonography or CT will enable a physician to arrive at a correct diagnosis with a high level of precision. In this

The value of operative cholangiography in the management of biliary tract disease has been questioned. To better define the role of cholangiography, we reviewed 579 consecutive cholecystectomies done by 1 group of surgeons in a small rural practice over 8 years.

Drip infusion cholangiography in cases of failed cholangiography
The British Journal of Radiology, 1969Abstract A method of drip infusion cholangiography is described using a solution of 60 c.c. of Biligrafin Forte in 250 c.c. 20 per cent dextrose solution for one hour. No adverse reactions have been recorded and a 92 per cent success rate in the series of 25 cases is reported.
