Direct cholangioscopy

European Journal of Gastroenterology & Hepatology, 2012
Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) has long been a tool utilized by gastroenterologists for many years, but direct cholangioscopy has only recently begun to be available for regular use in clinical practice. New Options of Cholangioscopy

Gastroenterology Clinics of North America, 2010
In the evaluation of biliary diseases, cholangioscopy is considered as complementary procedure to radiographic imaging. Direct visualization of the bile duct is the premier advantage of cholangioscopy over indirect imaging techniques. However, cholangioscopy has not gained wide acceptance because of several technical limitations such as scope fragility,

Cholangioscopy in Liver Disease

Clinics in Liver Disease, 2014
Since its introduction, cholangioscopy has been used diagnostically and therapeutically. The working channel size has increased, permitting direct visualization for tissue sampling and to guide application of lithotripsy for difficult stones. Cholangioscopy utilizes endoscope and catheter-based systems.

[Intraoperative cholangioscopy].

Khirurgiia, 1997
Intraoperative fibrocholangioscopy (FCS) was used in 446 patients with cholelithic disease and acute cholecystitis. 399 (89.5%) of the patients were hospitalized urgently. The use of FCS in patients with choledocholithiasis, obturative jaundice, cholangitis and pancreatitis is analysed. The safety and diagnostic accuracy of the method are proved.
