Chondrosarcoma of the epiglottis
The Journal of Laryngology & Otology, 1988SummaryMalignant cartilaginous tumours of the larynx are very rare, and usually arise from the cricoid cartilage. We report the first documented case of a chondrosarcoma of the epiglottis. The diagnosis, histology and treatment of these tumours are discussed.

Eighteen consecutive cases with the histologic diagnosis of chondrosarcoma of the hand were reviewed and followed up from 1 to 10 years. The primary tumor originated without a preexisting lesion in 78%. Secondary tumors arose in patients who had multiple enchondromas but not in patients with a solitary enchondroma. The onset is usually in the 60- to 80-

A case of chondrosarcoma of the maxilla with axial and coronal computed tomography is presented. The value of this new modality over conventional radiographs is discussed. A cartilagenous malignancy was suggested by a soft tissue mass with calcification. In addition there was lysis and osteoblastic bony reaction.

Chondrosarcoma of the maxillofacial region is a rare tumor. The classification of this tumor is based on histologic grades (1, 2, or 3) or variant including clear cell, differentiated, myxoid, and mesenchymal chondrosarcomas. However, histologic differentiation between this tumor and other relevant bone tumors is fairly difficult.
