Suprachiasmatic Nuclei Possess Glucocorticoid Receptors That Activate Downstream Signaling Pathways but Do Not Entrain Their Circadian Clock

open access: yesActa Physiologica, Volume 242, Issue 1, January 2026.
ABSTRACT Aim The circadian clock in the suprachiasmatic nuclei of the hypothalamus (SCN) is resistant to glucocorticoids (GC) in adults but responds to dexamethasone (DEX) during the fetal stage. Previously, this resistance of the adult SCN clock was attributed to a developmental loss of the glucocorticoid receptor (GR).

Pediatric brain tumor classification using digital pathology and deep learning: Evaluation of SOTA methods on a multi‐center Swedish cohort

open access: yesBrain Pathology, Volume 36, Issue 1, January 2026.
Deep learning‐based feature extractors pretrained on histopathology images can classify pediatric brain tumors when applied to a multi‐center Swedish dataset. Abstract Brain tumors are the most common solid tumors in children and young adults, but the scarcity of large histopathology datasets has limited the application of computational pathology in ...

Mapping the locus for ocular melanosis in Cairn Terriers

open access: yesVeterinary Ophthalmology, Volume 29, Issue 1, January 2026.
Abstract Objective To map the disease locus for familial ocular melanosis (OM) in the Cairn Terrier. Animals Studied Cairn Terriers with OM and normal control dogs. Procedure A genome‐wide association study (GWAS) was performed using 63 OM‐affected and 31 control Cairn Terriers, followed by haplotype analysis.
