An eye on long‐duration spaceflight: Controversies, countermeasures and challenges
Abstract Space flight‐associated neuroocular syndrome (SANS) is a consequence of long‐duration space flight and is detected in two‐thirds of astronauts. In‐flight, this can cause a change in the refraction of the eyes, requiring graded hypermetropic ‘superfocus adjustable’ glasses, optic nerve head oedema and choroidal folds.

Assessment of choroidal vessels in healthy eyes using 3-dimensional vascular maps and a semi-automated deep learning approach [PDF]
To assess the choroidal vessels in healthy eyes using a novel three-dimensional (3D) deep learning approach. In this cross-sectional retrospective study, swept-source OCT 6 × 6 mm scans on Plex Elite 9000 device were obtained. Automated segmentation

Abstract Background Imaging of the retina is accompanied by distortions so that positions in fundus photographs cannot be linearly translated to positions in the retinal fundus. The purpose of this study was to describe an algorithm and evaluate its reproducibility in identifying points on the retina from their representation on serial fundus ...

Personalized Models of Biological Barriers and Their Diseases: Recent Progress with Organs‐On‐Chips
Buck and Bugter et al. explore the architectural diversity and physiological functions of human barrier systems and reveal how organ‐on‐chip platforms, particularly those integrating patient‐derived cells, are advancing barrier disease modeling. They highlight how emerging biological and technological advances can be used to bridge the gap between ...
