Yearbook of the Association of Pacific Coast Geographers, 1940
A MODERN geography was altogether impossible until a little more than a century ago. From then on a succession of geographers has given us a conception of their discipline that should never be lost again. Only after the groundwork had been laid by geology, the natural sciences, and biology was it possible to arrive at what we call geography today.

CHOROLOGY AND SPATIAL ANALYSIS
Annals of the Association of American Geographers, 1974The chorological and spatial schools offer differing conceptions of the nature of geographic questions and the appropriate forms of explanation. Their differences have been exaggerated, however, and recent attempts at synthesis have been reconstructions of chorology from the spatial viewpoint.

Floristic Inventory and Chorological Atlas
2016In the modern view, a flora includes local surveys which have been extended to obtain uniform information over the entire study area. Our territory has been divided into over 180 quadrants, and the distribution of the species has been controlled using methods which allow a comparison with other territories and landscapes in different parts of Europe ...

Chorological Problems of Modern Landscape Studies
Izvestiya Rossiiskoi Akademii Nauk Seriya Geograficheskaya, 2023The description of the spatial structure of a landscape usually comes down to listing the types of morphological units and their area ratios. However, based on a systemic understanding of the landscape, the spatial structure can be considered perfectly described only when the lateral relationships between spatial elements are explained in detail.

CHOROLOGY, COLLECTION DATES, AND TAXONOMIC RESPONSIBILITY
TAXON, 1970SummaryTaxonomists generally recognize the value of collection dates in planning biosystematic research but do not always appreciate their usefulness in documenting migrations and introductions. A survey of several journals shows that many taxonomists fail to include collection dates in monographs and other taxonomic treatises.

Computer-Aided Chorology of Indian Grasses
Kew Bulletin, 1974An approach to chorological analysis was developed in a previous paper (Clayton & Hepper, I974) devoted to the grasses of West Africa. The extension of this type of investigation to India was prompted by the existence of Bor's excellent taxonomic treatment (i 96o) of the sub-continent's grasses.

Phytosociological Classification in Chorological Borderline Areas
Journal of Biogeography, 1976In the Braun-Blanquet approach to phytosociology, totalfloristic composition with an emphasis on critical character taxa is used as a criterion to classify vegetation into a hierarchical system. However, several associations lacking true association character taxa have been recognized. This feature seems to be particularly common in phytochoric tension
