Impact of Graphene Oxide Lateral Size on the Long‐Term Stability of LiNi0.5Mn1.5O4 Electrodes

open access: yesBatteries &Supercaps, EarlyView.
Graphene oxide (GO) has previously been shown to increase the cycling stability of LiNi0.5Mn1.5O4 (LNMO) electrodes when used as an additive in the slurry. Yet the reason for the improvement is still being discussed. This study investigates how two well‐characterized GO additives affect the electrochemical performance of LNMO half‐cells by limiting the

Analyzing the Impact of Electrolyte Motion Induced Salt Inhomogeneity Effect on Apparent Aging: Role of Current Rates and Temperature Effects in Accelerated Cyclic Aging Tests in Li‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesBatteries &Supercaps, EarlyView.
Lithium‐ion batteries subjected to accelerated cycling can display recoverable capacity loss unrelated to real lifetime. This study explains the origin through loss of homogeneity of lithium distribution in the anode and salt concentration in the electrolyte.

Tailoring Rheological and Functional Properties of Nickel‐Mangan‐Cobalt‐Based Recyclate Cathodes from Direct Recycling of Lithium‐Ion Battery Production Scrap

open access: yesBatteries &Supercaps, EarlyView.
Direct recycled cathodes from electrode production scrap show improved performance by adding binder and conductive additive or blending recycled and fresh slurries. The rheological, microstructural, and functional properties could be matched to pristine material.
