Anisotropic media with singular slowness surfaces
It is proved that if an anisotropic medium has an open set of singular directions, then this medium has two slowness surfaces that completely coincide. The coinciding slowness surfaces form one double singular slowness surface.

Transformation theory and Christoffel formulas for matrix biorthogonal polynomials on the real line
In this paper transformations for matrix orthogonal polynomials in the real line are studied. The orthogonality is understood in a broad sense, and is given in terms of a nondegenerate continuous sesquilinear form, which in turn is determined by a quasidefinite matrix of bivariate generalized functions with a well defined support. The discussion of the

We obtain an extension of the Christoffel--Darboux formula for matrix orthogonal polynomials with a generalized Hankel symmetry, including the Adler-van Moerbeke generalized orthogonal polynomials.

Discrete spectral transformations of skew orthogonal polynomials are presented. From these spectral transformations, it is shown that the corresponding discrete integrable systems are derived both in 1+1 dimension and in 2+1 dimension. Especially in the (

Real‐Time Conformal Maps and Parameterizations
Abstract We present a simple algorithm to conformally map between two simple and bounded planar domains based on the concept of harmonic measure, which is a conformal invariant. With suitable preprocessing, the algorithm is fast enough to compute all possible conformal maps (having three real degrees of freedom) between the two domains in real time in

Recursive algorithm for calculating Christoffel symbols efficiently [PDF]
International audienceChristoffel symbols of the first kind are very important in robot dynamics. They are used for tuning various proposed robot controllers, for determining the bounds on Coriolis/Centrifugal matrix, for mathematical formulation of ...

DSGE Model Forecasting: Rational Expectations Versus Adaptive Learning
ABSTRACT This paper compares within‐sample and out‐of‐sample fit of a DSGE model with rational expectations to a model with adaptive learning. The Galí, Smets, and Wouters model is the chosen laboratory using quarterly real‐time euro area data vintages, covering 2001Q1–2019Q4.

The role of the curvature of a surface in the shape of the solutions to elliptic equations
Abstract We prove the uniqueness and nondegeneracy of the critical point of positive, semistable solutions of −Δu=f(u)$-\Delta u=f(u)$ with Dirichlet boundary conditions for a class of star‐shaped domains on the sphere and in the hyperbolic plane satisfying a geometric condition.
