High‐Performance Oxidation and Nanomolar Detection of Phenylhydrazine Using a 6‐Hydroxyflavone‐Based Molecular Electrocatalyst Functionalized Multiwalled Carbon Nanotube in Batch Injection Analysis

open access: yesChemistryOpen, Volume 14, Issue 11, November 2025.
This study presents a novel, rapid method for in situ functionalization of carbon electrodes using redox‐active form of the 6‐hydroxyflavone. The resulting multiwalled carbon nanotubes with redox‐active HFLA (MWCNT@HFLA‐Redox) electrode enables sensitive, selective detection of toxic phenylhydrazine, with excellent performance (limit of detection: 7 nM)

Nanoparticulate sol-gel pretreatments as barrier coatings and adhesion promoters for metallic corrosion protection [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
The Spanish University Carlos III de Madrid has developed sol-gel coatings for the corrosion protection of alloys. Sol-gel coatings represent a physical barrier between the metallic substrate and the aggressive environment of exposition and act as ...

Chemical reduction of hexavalent chromium (VI) in soil slurry by nano zero valent iron [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
The increasing industrial development of recent decades has lead to the production of increasing quantities of waste containing heavy metals, elements often harmful to the environment, which in the past were not properly disposed of, thus inducing soil

The Reduction of Group 6–8 Transition Metal Oxides with Hydrogen—From Ore Smelting to Reaction Pathways#

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Inorganic Chemistry, Volume 28, Issue 30, October 22, 2025.
As the reduction of transition metal oxides by coal poses a significant climate risk, the use of alternative reducing agents such as hydrogen is becoming increasingly important. This review summarizes the current knowledge of the reduction pathways of transition metal oxides from groups 6 to 8.

Dietary exposure assessment of Cypriot Inorganic Arsenic monitoring data

open access: yesFood Risk Assess Europe, Volume 3, Issue 4, October 2025.
Abstract Inorganic arsenic (iAs) toxicity refers to the adverse health effects caused by exposure to inorganic arsenic compounds, which are highly toxic and can cause severe health issues. These effects can manifest both acutely and chronically, depending on the level and duration of exposure.

A 3D Printing Strategy for Hard Curved Surfaced Circuits: From Materials to Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 12, Issue 36, September 25, 2025.
Conventional PCB etching (multi‐step) and indirect transfer techniques fail to meet structural electronics’ demands for lightweight, miniaturized, and customized manufacturing. 3D‐printed conformal circuits enable direct integration of conductive traces into substrates or onto surfaces, achieving integrated structural‐functional fabrication.

Unveiling the Materiality of 19th Century's Color Spaces

open access: yesColor Research &Application, Volume 50, Issue 5, Page 487-498, September/October 2025.
ABSTRACT Several color theories flourished during the 19th century, marked by experiments on the distinction between color‐light and color‐matter. This study aims to compare the color plates designed to illustrate three of these color theories, namely M.E. Chevreul's chromatic circle (1861), O. Rood's frontispiece (1879), and C.
