Design of Molecular Lanthanide‐Based Quantum Light Sources for On‐Chip Integration

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
Rigid lanthanide complexes with a tetrapodal tris‐benzimidazolic ligand exhibit narrow, well‐resolved visible/NIR emission profiles suitable for quantum photonics. The EuL complex features an exceptionally sharp 5D₀→7F₀ transition enabled by an LMCT mechanism that suppresses inhomogeneous broadening.

Link Bandwidth and Transmission Capability of Single-Mode Multi-Aperture Vertical-Cavity Surface-Emitting Lasers at 100 G/Lane and 200 G/Lane over Multimode Fibers

open access: yesPhotonics
Single-mode (SM) vertical-cavity surface-emitting lasers (VCSELs) have often been demonstrated with an unusually long transmission reach at very high data rates while today’s multimode VCSEL transmission has been limited by the fiber modal bandwidth and ...

Dispersion Supported BB84 Quantum Key Distribution Using Phase Modulated Light

open access: yesIEEE Photonics Journal, 2011
We propose and experimentally demonstrate that, contrary to what was thought up to now, an efficient BB84 operation is feasible using the double phase modulator (PM-PM) configuration in frequency-coded quantum key distribution systems without dispersion ...

TacScope: A Miniaturized Vision‐Based Tactile Sensor for Surgical Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
TacScope is a compact, vision‐based tactile sensor designed for robot‐assisted surgery. By leveraging a curved elastomer surface with pressure‐sensitive particle redistribution, it captures high‐resolution 3D tactile feedback. TacScope enables accurate tumor detection and shape classification beneath soft tissue phantoms, offering a scalable, low‐cost ...

Chromatic dispersion monitoring in electronic dispersion equalizers using tapped delay lines

open access: yesOptics Express, 2007
We propose a chromatic dispersion monitoring technique by analyzing the tap coefficients in electronic dispersion equalizers using tapped delay lines without needing additional hardware. This technique is robust to varying optical signal-to-noise ratio. The successful chromatic dispersion monitoring is demonstrated by simulation and experiment.

Endocytic Control of Cell‐Autonomous and Non‐Cell‐Autonomous Functions of p53

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
NUMB Ex3‐containing isoforms localize to the plasma membrane, where they recruit p53 through SNX9 and direct it to multivesicular bodies and exosomes. Exported p53 is taken up by neighboring cells and activates nuclear programs, revealing an intercellular, exosome‐based pathway that might help establish a tumor‐suppressive microenvironment.

Intelligent Stain‐Free Histology on Structural Colorimetric Nanocavities

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Chen and Gan et al. introduce a label‐free imaging platform using inexpensive Nanocavity‐on‐Silicon (NOS) slides. These slides transform subtle tissue variations into vivid structural colors, enabling high‐contrast histological imaging under a regular optical microscope. This stain‐free approach reveals morphological details comparable to traditional H&
