Visual stress, its treatment with spectral filters, and its relationship to visually induced motion sickness [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
We review the concept of visual stress and its relation to neurological disease. Visual stress can occur from the observation of images with unnatural spatial structure and an excess of contrast energy at spatial frequencies to which the visual system is

DENTA: A Dual Enzymatic Nanoagent for Self‐Activating Tooth Whitening and Biofilm Disruption

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The nanoapatite with dual enzymes (DENTA) accumulates in dentinal tubules, reducing hypersensitivity caused by dental nerve exposure and facilitating continuous ROS generation through salivary glucose for effective, long‐term whitening. The dentin structures remain non‐destructive due to the low concentration of ROS, demonstrating excellent cell ...

Effect of ripening temperature on early-season 'Hass' avocado fruit exocarp colour development and pigmentation during ripening

open access: yesHorticultural Science
South African 'Hass' avocado fruit harvested early season are vulnerable to colour desynchronisation with softening during ripening, reducing their international and local market aesthetic value.

Optical Detection of Green Emission for Non-Uniformity Film in Flat Panel Displays

open access: yesCrystals, 2018
Among colours, the green colour has the most sensitivity in human vision so that green colour defects on displays can be effortlessly perceived by a photopic eye with the most intensity in the wavelength 555 nm of the spectrum.

Electro-optical properties of an orthoconic liquid crystal mixture (W-182) and its molecular dynamics [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
We observed that the perfect dark state problem could be solved by using orthoconic antiferroelectric liquid crystal (OAFLC) instead of normal AFLC by comparing the properties of isocontrast and dispersion chromaticity of W-182 OAFLC and normal AFLC CS ...

Biomimetic Iridescent Skin: Robust Prototissues Spontaneously Assembled from Photonic Protocells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Uniform nanoparticles are induced to form arrays (photonic crystals) in the cores of biopolymer capsules, endowing these ‘protocells’ with structural color. These protocells are then assembled into large self‐standing objects, i.e., prototissues, with robust mechanical properties as well as iridescent optical properties.

Moisture content assessment of dried Hami jujube using image colour analysis

open access: yesCzech Journal of Food Sciences, 2022
To investigate the feasibility of image colour information in predicting the moisture content of dried Hami jujube, the images were obtained under different colour space models, and the colour model component mean and chromaticity frequency sequences of ...

Effects of Antenna Beam Chromaticity on Redshifted 21~cm Power Spectrum and Implications for Hydrogen Epoch of Reionization Array

open access: yes, 2016
Unaccounted for systematics from foregrounds and instruments can severely limit the sensitivity of current experiments from detecting redshifted 21~cm signals from the Epoch of Reionization (EoR).
