Identification of a Shiga toxin A‐derived peptide internalized into Gb3 receptor‐bearing cells via interaction with the Shiga toxin B subunit

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The process of internalization of the Shiga toxin A subunit via formation of a complex with the Shiga toxin B subunit, which specifically binds to the Gb3 receptor. The peptide is designed to act as a carrier of drugs into cancer cells. Here, we explored the potential of peptides derived from the catalytic A subunit of Shiga toxin (STxA) to be drug ...

Esterification of rosin with methyl alcohol for fuel applications

open access: yesRevista Facultad de Ingeniería Universidad de Antioquia, 2020
Oleoresin is obtained via tapping of pine trees and as a by-product of Kraft process in the pulp industry.  Because of its low production cost, it is an attractive source for biofuels.

Preparation and Chromatographic Analysis of Phlorotannins [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Chromatographic Science, 2013
In the 70s, reports began to appear of phenolic metabolites of brown algae with the characteristics of tannins; these compounds, initially termed phaeophyte tannins, marine algal polyphenols or polyphloroglucinols, are known as phlorotannins, the youngest group of plant polyphenolics.

Conserved binding mode but diverse interfaces of MreC‐PBP2 interactions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The crystal structure of abMreC reveals a conserved two β‐barrel architecture and provides structural insights into its role within the bacterial elongasome. The abMreC–abPBP2 complex model identifies the molecular basis of MreC‐mediated PBP2 recognition, contributing to the regulation of peptidoglycan synthesis.

Sectional moving window factor analysis for diagnosing elution chromatographic patterns [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
The diagnosis of elution chromatographic patterns, being a vital step in chromatographic analysis, builds fundamental ingredient for later curve resolution or fitting. Many conventional multivariate resolution methods usually hold the hypothesis that the

An epithelial GPR35 isoform supports tumor‐associated transcriptional and metabolic phenotypes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
GPR35 generates two functionally distinct isoforms with previously unresolved roles. GPR35‐short mediates immune‐cell chemotaxis, while GPR35‐long is enriched in colorectal cancer epithelium, where it supports increased metabolism, proliferation, and tumor‐associated transcriptional programs.

chromatographic fingerprinting for the detection of herbal adulteration and herbal fraud in plant food supplements [PDF]

open access: yes, 2022
Plant food supplements (PFS) are gaining popularity in the western world due to the general trend of returning to natural and traditional products, but also the evolution towards self-medication, the questioning of allopathic medicines and the ...

Peripheral lysosomes recruit PLEKHG3 to focal adhesions and restrain protrusion dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Proximity‐dependent labeling at the LAMTOR complex revealed the Rho GEF PLEKHG3 as a lysosome‐proximal protein directing the study toward the influence of lysosome positioning on actin dynamics and cell motility. We show that PLEKHG3 colocalizes with lysosomes at focal adhesion sites and observe that forced peripheral dispersion of lysosomes hinders ...
