High-Pressure CO$_2$ Dissociation with Nanosecond Pulsed Discharges [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2022
The efficiency of the conversion of CO$_2$ into CO with nanosecond repetitively pulsed discharges (NRP) is investigated in a high pressure batch reactor. Stable discharges are obtained at up to 12~bar. By-products of CO$_2$ splitting are measured with gas chromatography. The energy efficiency is determined for a range of processing times, pulse energy,

Separation of the natural retinoids by high-pressure liquid chromatography

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 1978
A reverse phase high-pressure liquid chromatography system for rapid separation of various retinoids (vitamin A and its analogs) with little or no degradation is described. This method permits detection of as little as 22 pmol of retinoic acid.

Plasma‐Induced Maskless Formation of Quasi‐Periodic Nanoripples on Polymeric Substrates

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, Volume 27, Issue 7, April 2025.
Reactive plasma etching is proposed for maskless, rapid, mass‐production of quasi‐periodic nanoripples formed on the area adjacent to the electrode of polymeric substrates perpendicularly placed on the electrode. To this end, a modeling framework is employed for the calculation of particle trajectories, which predicts the angular and energy ...

Pressure-Induced Alterations in the Protein Pattern of the Thermophilic Archaebacterium Methanococcus thermolithotrophicus [PDF]

open access: yes, 1988
Elevated hydrostatic pressure has been shown to affect the growth rate of the thermophilic methanobacterium Methanococcus thermolithotrophicus without extending its temperature range of viability.

Scalable Manufacturing of Radiation‐Tolerant Potentiometric Electrodes: A Systematic Transition from Laboratory to Semiautomated Fabrication

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Laboratory protocols for producing thin‐film pH electrodes for sterilized single‐use technologies have been successfully developed into a semiautomated workflow, with higher throughput and precision of membrane thickness. Accuracies are within 0.05 pH units versus ground truth, and uncertainty analysis reveals the largest sources of error to be derived
