Kinetics and mechanistic approach to the chromic acid oxidation of l-tryptophan with a spectral detection of chromium(III) product

open access: yesJournal of Saudi Chemical Society, 2016
The kinetics of chromic acid oxidation of l-tryptophan in H2SO4 medium at a constant ionic strength of 0.6 mol dm−3and at 25 °C have been investigated spectrophotometrically. The reaction exhibits a 3:2 stoichiometry (tryptophan:chromic acid).

Study on Synthesis and Modification of Conical Ni Structures by One-Step Method [PDF]

open access: yesArchives of Metallurgy and Materials, 2021
In this work the conical Ni structures were obtained from an electrolyte containing NH4Cl as a crystal modifier. This process is called one-step method and allows to cover large areas with micro- and nanostructures during a single electrodeposition ...

Removal of heavy metals from Water Rinsing of Plating Baths by Electrodialysis

open access: yesE3S Web of Conferences, 2013
During the chromic plating of parts, the baths become more and more poor in chromic acid and rich in metallic impurities such as Cu2+, Zn2+, Fe3+ and Cr3+ which makes the bath useless.

Chromic Acid Oxidation of Ethyl Alcohol [PDF]

open access: yesNature, 1949
IN connexion with a problem of biosynthesis, we had occasion to prepare a sample of ethanol in which some of the α-hydrogen atoms were replaced by deuterium. This was done by heating propionic acid with deuterium sulphate, recovering the labelled propionic acid and treating its silver salt with bromine in carbon tetrachloride; the resulting ethyl ...

Thin-layer chromatography of tissue lipids without extraction

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 1970
Frozen tissue sections were applied directly to silica gel plates, and the lipids were separated by developing the plates in different solvent systems.

Photocatalytic high-performance fiber-reinforced cement composites with white Portland cement, titanium dioxide, and surface treated polyethylene fibers

open access: yesJournal of Materials Research and Technology, 2021
In this study, titanium dioxide (TiO2) and polyethylene (PE) fibers were employed to develop photocatalytic high-performance fiber-reinforced cement composites (HPFRCCs). To achieve high NOx removal capacity, it was necessary to confirm the dispersion of

Activity of drugs against bacteria, fungi and viruses

open access: yesEnvironment Conservation Journal, 2018
We use drugs in treatment of diseases. A successful drug is one which is readily absorbed slowly excreted and having low toxicity. To evaluate the antibacterial activity of drug, add drug is in known concentration to the cultures of the test organisms ...

An ultrathin polydiacetylene nanosheet as dual colorimetric and fluorescent indicator for lysophosphatidic acid, a cancer biomarker

open access: yesGiant, 2020
Ultrathin two-dimensional (2D) nanosheets have been considered as one of the powerful platforms for chemical sensing of biomolecules. However, few 2D nanosheets with intrinsic chromatism exist for the specific and effective detection of some biomarkers ...
