Water vapor diffusion membranes, 2 [PDF]
Transport mechanisms were investigated for the three different types of water vapor diffusion membranes. Membranes representing porous wetting and porous nonwetting structures as well as dense diffusive membrane structures were investigated for water ...

Pure PP and PP/MoO3 filaments produced by melt spinning. ABSTRACT Polypropylene (PP) composite fibers containing 0.10, 0.20, and 0.50 wt% molybdenum oxide (MoO3) nanoparticles were produced via melt spinning. In the present study, the effect of this addition on the mechanical, thermal, and chromic properties of the fibers was investigated.

Corrosion protection of AA2024 sealed anodic layers using the hydrophobic properties of carboxylic acids [PDF]
The present study investigates the use of carboxylic acids as a post-treatment for sealed AA2024 anodised in tartaric–sulphuric acid electrolyte. Four monocarboxylic acids with different carbon chain lengths were tested ((CH3–(CH2)n–COOH with n=4, 8, 12 ...

Abstract The waste activated sludge high‐rate (WASHR) process, developed in our previous study, is used for septic wastewater treatment. This high‐rate contact stabilization pre‐treatment uses typical waste streams found in wastewater treatment plants to reduce a portion of the loadings on the main treatment trains.

Modelling of continuous low‐temperature emulsion co‐polymerization in 3D‐printed reactor
A kinetic model for the emulsion copolymerization of butyl acrylate/styrene at low temperatures is proposed and validated against experiments with a redox initiator system. The model was successfully transferred to a 3D‐printed tubular reactor and conversions of more than 80% and small particles sizes below 40 nm were observed.

A tunable microwave absorption metamaterial inspired by moths evading bat detection
Electromagnetic radiation in the current environment has become complex and uncontrollable due to the advancement of wireless technology. Inspired by the moth surface cilia to bend and evade bat sonar detection, our work introduces a metamaterial incorporating broadband and tunable microwave absorption properties combined with deep learning algorithms.

SYNTHESIS OF 8-HYDROXY-6-METHOXY- 3-UNDECYLISOCOUMARIN AND 2-HY DROXY - 4-METHOXY-6-(2-OXOTRIDECYL) BENZOIC ACID [PDF]
Straightforward conversion of (+)-6,8-dimethoxy-3,4-dihydro-3- undecylisocoumarin (3) to the title isocoumarin was carried out. Hydrolytic ring opening of (3) afforded the hydroxy acid (4) which was immediately oxidized to keto acid (5) using chromic ...
