Preparation of stoicheiometric chromites
Journal of Inorganic and Nuclear Chemistry, 1962Abstract The preparation of pure stoicheiometric chromites MCr2O4 (M Mg2+, Zn2+, Cu2+, Mn2+, Fe2+, Co2+, Ni2+) from suitable precursors is discussed. Atomic ratios Cr/M very close to the theoretical values were obtained. The chromites were examined by chemical analysis and several physical constants were measured.

Bursting of chromitic refractories
Refractories, 1967A variant of the contact method for determining bursting of refractories was developed characterizing: double sided action of tablets of iron oxide with the specimen which creates conditions for more uniform bursting of the entire specimen; observation of the changes in the thickness of the specimen during testing which permits us to control the ...

THE resistant nature of chromite to all the usual etching reagents used in polished section examination is well known. Etch patterns on chromite would assist in the determination of the orientation of interlocking and anhedral grains in a rock and in the recognition of zoning.
