Electrochemical Corrosion of Lanthanum Chromite and Yttrium Chromite in Coal Slag [PDF]
Lanthanum (La) chromites have long been considered as electrodes for magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) generator channels (1,2,3,4). These chromites when doped with divalent ions such as Ca, Mg or Sr have adequate electronic and electrical conductivity and have melting points >2500 K (2).

Oxidation consolidation characteristics of chromite pellets during the roasting process
The roasting consolidation characteristics of chromite pellets were systematically studied in this paper. The results show that preheating time has little effect on the compressive strength of preheating chromite pellets. Under the appropriate preheating

H2 prereduction selectively metallizes Fe in UG2 chromite pellets at 1100°C, while silicon carbide becomes active at 1300°C to convert remaining Cr2O3 to carbides and promote Cr metallization. By separating the roles of H2 and SiC, the sequential route reaches up to 65.7% Cr metallization and suppresses in‐furnace CO generation by ≈75% versus ...
