Spectroscopic Determination of Chromium(VI) during the Reduction of Chromium(VI) to Chromium(III) [PDF]

open access: yesApplied Spectroscopy, 1991
Reduction of chromium(VI) to chromium(III) by thiourea between pH 3.0 and 5.5 is a key aspect of the chromium(VI)/thiourea/polyacrylamide gel polymer system used in enhanced oil recovery processes. A method has been developed to determine chromium(VI) concentration during the reduction of chromium(VI) to chromium(III) in this pH range.

Chemical reduction of hexavalent chromium (VI) in soil slurry by nano zero valent iron [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
The increasing industrial development of recent decades has lead to the production of increasing quantities of waste containing heavy metals, elements often harmful to the environment, which in the past were not properly disposed of, thus inducing soil

Disposal of highly toxic waste chromium solutions [PDF]

open access: yesE3S Web of Conferences
The aim of the study is to determine the effect of organic reductants (sawdust) on the degree of reduction of chromium (VI) ions in the complex processing of waste chromium-containing solution (electrolyte) of plating production, as at the same time to ...

Oxidation of Cr(III)-Fe(III) Mixed-Phase Hydroxides by Chlorine: Implications on the Control of Hexavalent Chromium in Drinking Water. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
The occurrence of chromium (Cr) as an inorganic contaminant in drinking water is widely reported. One source of Cr is its accumulation in iron-containing corrosion scales of drinking water distribution systems as Cr(III)-Fe(III) hydroxide, that is, Fe ...

The Role of Microbial Mats in the Removal of Hexavalent Chromium and Associated Shifts in Their Bacterial Community Composition

open access: yesFrontiers in Microbiology, 2020
Microbial mats are rarely reported for chromium-polluted ecosystems, hence information on their bacterial diversity and role in chromium removal are very scarce.

On-line preconcentration using dual mini-columns for the speciation of chromium(III) and chromium(VI) and its application to water samples as studied by inductively coupled plasma-atomic emission spectrometry [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
On-line preconcentration system for the selective, sensitive and simultaneous determination of chromium species was investigated. Dual minicolumns containing chelating resin were utilized for the speciation and preconcentration of Cr(III) and Cr(VI) in ...

EXTRACTION AND SPECIATION OF CHROMIUM(VI) AND CHROMIUM(III) AS ION-ASSOCIATION COMPLEXES OF TETRAMETHYLAMMONIUM-CHROMATE

open access: yesIndonesian Journal of Chemistry, 2010
A specific, selective and simple method for speciation of chromium(VI) and chromium(III) has been developed. This method is based on the quantitative extraction of chromium(VI) and chromium(III) as an ion association of tetramethylammonium-chromate in ...

Response Surface Modeling and Optimization of Chromium (VI) Removal from Waste Water using Custard Apple Peel Powder

open access: yesWalailak Journal of Science and Technology, 2013
The potential use of custard apple peel powder for the removal of chromium (VI) from waste water has been investigated in batch mode experiments. Influences of parameters like initial chromium (VI) concentration (5 - 30 mg/l), pH (2 - 4), and biomass ...
