Mimicry and mitonuclear discordance in nudibranchs: New insights from exon capture phylogenomics. [PDF]

open access: yesEcol Evol, 2020
We employ exon capture to resolve the phylogeny of a recently radiated genus of toxic nudibranch and to test previous mimicry hypotheses. We uncover mitonuclear discordance for the first time in nudibranchs that derives from mitochondrial capture or introgression, and we confirm one mimetic species in Western Australia.

Some aspects of the family Chromodorididae (Opisthobranchia: Nudibranchia) from Brazil, with description of a new species [PDF]

open access: yesScientia Marina, 2006
This paper describes a study of the nudibranchs from the family Chromodorididae Bergh, 1891 that were sampled in several expeditions along the coast of Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo and Fernando de Noronha (Brazil).

Tropical Range Extension for the Temperate, Endemic South-Eastern Australian Nudibranch Goniobranchus splendidus (Angas, 1864) [PDF]

open access: yesDiversity, 2016
In contrast to many tropical animals expanding southwards on the Australian coast concomitant with climate change, here we report a temperate endemic newly found in the tropics.

Red Sea Opisthobranchia 5: new species and new records of chromodorids from the Red Sea (Heterobranchia, Nudibranchia, Chromodorididae) [PDF]

open access: yesZooKeys, 2018
This is the fifth publication describing species of sea slug heterobranchs, originally based on collections from the Red Sea by the author on four expeditions carried out in 1983 and 1990, with the addition of specimens subsequently collected by ...

Expanding the Repertoire of Spongian-16-One Derivatives in Australian Nudibranchs of the Genus Goniobranchus and Evaluation of Their Anatomical Distribution [PDF]

open access: yesMarine Drugs, 2021
Extracts of the mantle and viscera of the Indo-Pacific nudibranchs Goniobranchus aureopurpureus and Goniobranchus sp. 1 afforded 11 new diterpenoids (1–11), all of which possess a tetracyclic spongian-16-one scaffold with extensive oxidation at C-6, C-7,

First record of Felimare picta (Philippi, 1836) (Mollusca, Gastropoda, Chromodorididae) from Tobruk, Libyan coast [PDF]

open access: yesOceanological and Hydrobiological Studies, 2023
Biodiversity in the Mediterranean Sea has not yet been fully explored. There has been very little research on molluscs along the Libyan coast. An individual of the chromodoridid nudibranch Felimare picta (Philippi, 1836) was encountered during scuba ...

Traditional taxonomic groupings mask evolutionary history: a molecular phylogeny and new classification of the chromodorid nudibranchs. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2012
Chromodorid nudibranchs (16 genera, 300+ species) are beautiful, brightly colored sea slugs found primarily in tropical coral reef habitats and subtropical coastal waters.

New record of Hypselodoris infucata (Rüppell & Leuckart, 1830) (Mollusca, Gastropoda, Chromodorididae) in the Republic of Mauritius [PDF]

open access: yesCheck List, 2022
To date, 179 species belonging to the gastropod infraclass Euthyneura are known from Mauritius. We report for the first time from Mauritius the chromodorid nudibranch, Hypselodoris infucata (Rüppell & Leuckart, 1830), based on 47 sites ...

Heterobranch sea slugs (Mollusca: Gastropoda) from Ascension Island, South Atlantic Ocean [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
The small volcanic island of Ascension is situated in the middle of the South Atlantic Ocean, more than 1500 km from the coast of Africa, its nearest continental area. To date, eight 'opisthobranch' species were reported from the island. As a result of a

Additions to the sea snail fauna (Mollusca: Gastropoda: Opisthobranchia) of Lakshadweep Islands, India

open access: yesJournal of Threatened Taxa, 2017
Among the 373 species of opisthobranchs reported from India, 92 are from Lakshadweep.  This paper documents 11 species of opisthobranch fauna from Lakshadweep Islands, classified under the families Haminoeidae, Colpodaspididae, Volvatellidae ...
