Chromogranin/secretogranin proteins in murine heart: myocardial production of chromogranin A fragment catestatin (Chga364–384) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
In the heart, the secretory granules containing the atrial natriuretic peptides (ANP) and B-type myocardial natriuretic peptide (BNP) provide the basis for the endocrine function of this organ.

Forward‐Viewing Endoscopic Ultrasound‐Guided Fine‐Needle Biopsy for a Hypopharyngeal Carcinoma Mimicking a Subepithelial Lesion: A Case Report

open access: yesDEN Open, Volume 6, Issue 1, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Subepithelial lesions (SELs) of the head and neck have a low diagnostic yield with mucosal biopsy and carry a bleeding risk. Among endoscopic ultrasound–tissue acquisition (EUS‐TA) techniques, fine‐needle biopsy (FNB) provides higher specimen adequacy and diagnostic accuracy than fine‐needle aspiration (FNA).

Factors associated with elevated serum chromogranin A levels in patients with autoimmune gastritis

open access: yesThe Turkish Journal of Gastroenterology, 2016
Background/Aims: Chromogranin A is an important tool in the diagnosis of neuroendocrine tumors. Autoimmune gastritis is an autoimmune disorder marked by hypergastrinemia, which stimulates enterochromaffin-like cell proliferation.

Immunoglobulin G4‐Related Disease‐Like Gastric Lesion Presenting as Submucosal Tumor‐Like Lesions

open access: yesDEN Open, Volume 6, Issue 1, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Immunoglobulin G4 (IgG4)‐related disease (RD) is a systemic fibroinflammatory condition characterized by infiltration of IgG4‐positive plasma cells (PCs). Gastrointestinal involvement may present as submucosal tumor–like lesions and poses diagnostic challenges.

A Case of Gastric Neuroendocrine Tumor With a Raspberry‐Like Appearance on the Background of Acid‐Suppressive Therapy‐Related Gastropathy

open access: yesDEN Open, Volume 6, Issue 1, April 2026.
ABSTRACT We report the case of a 52‐year old man who was referred to our institution after a routine health check identified an asymptomatic gastric polyp. The medical history of the patient included reflux esophagitis, for which he had been treated with vonoprazan 10 mg daily for 6 years after initially receiving proton pump inhibitors.

Small Hepatoid Variant of Solid Pseudopapillary Neoplasm of the Pancreas: A Unique Case With Long‐term Follow‐up

open access: yesDEN Open, Volume 6, Issue 1, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Hepatoid tumors are rare neoplasms that arise outside the liver but exhibit morphological and immunophenotypic features resembling hepatocellular carcinoma. Although hepatoid differentiation sometimes occurs in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma, its occurrence in solid pseudopapillary neoplasm (SPN) is exceedingly rare.

Distinct Adenocarcinoma and Neuroendocrine Carcinoma Components (Suspected Mixed Neuroendocrine‐Non‐Neuroendocrine Neoplasm) Identified by Targeted Biopsy Based on Differences in Endoscopic Findings in an Esophagogastric Junction Carcinoma: A Case Report

open access: yesDEN Open, Volume 6, Issue 1, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Mixed neuroendocrine‐non‐neuroendocrine neoplasm (MiNEN) is a rare, highly malignant tumor comprising both neuroendocrine neoplasm (NEN) and non‐neuroendocrine neoplasm (non‐NEN) components. MiNEN arising at the esophagogastric junction (EGJ) is uncommon, and pretreatment identification of both components remains challenging.

Chromogranin A in Physiology and Oncology

open access: yesFolia Biologica, 2011
Chromogranin A (CgA) is a hydrophilic acidic one-chain peptide containing 439 amino acids, preceded by NH2-terminal 18-amino-acid signal peptide; the complete pre-chromogranin A molecule thus encompasses 457 amino acids. It is a member of the chromogranin family that comprises several proteins.

Malignant Potential of Temporal Bone Paragangliomas With Reference to GAPP System

open access: yesLaryngoscope Investigative Otolaryngology, Volume 11, Issue 2, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Objectives To evaluate the temporal bone paragangliomas (so‐called glomus tumors, TB‐PGLs) via the Grading System for Adrenal Pheochromocytoma and Paraganglioma (GAPP) and succinate dehydrogenase subunit B (SDHB) immunohistochemistry, and to discuss their implications for postoperative follow‐up and treatment strategies.
